Its a tough one, sure its a government attack on freedom but its also an attack on scumbag bikies, its hard to pick a side, both are criminal gangs but only one sides activities are protected by the law.

Not just me.

Ask the police who arrest them.

The judges who sentence them.

The victims.

And not "for nothing".

Bikies are self-proclaimed criminals.

Who are the "victims" of them meeting up for a drink?

Ah, Pecca is playing the parrot again. OK Pecca, let's dumb it down a bit. Please write sentences containing the following terms...

freedom of association
justice
collective punishment

... just so I can tell whether you understand what I mean when I ask you about them. There's no point me asking you the same questions over and over again if you don't understand English.

Not sure why you think I'm here to fulfill your requests.

Not sure why you condone criminal activity either.

Bikies are self-proclaimed criminals.

Oh - as a layman (what a bastard I am sometimes) - I also established that a police officer could not say that an accused was 'obviously intent on breaking/defying the law' - unless he/she could prove conspiracy.....

It seems Queensland has no trouble with such legal niceties.... just toss the Law books out the window and let The Guv rule as he/she likes on anyone.....

That TF is WHY 'Common Law' was brought in - so that the Law was the same for everyone (in theory at least) across the entire country.....

Same as on the subject of the arse-dumped ticket girl - unconstrained violence by the instruments of the State - including legislation that abrogates Law and is thus conspired violence against the community whilst in a position of servant (look it up - Scottish Law stipulates that theft as a servant caries double penalty) - is not acceptable - and must never become acceptable.

You are responding to my questions. You just don't seem to understand them. Do you know what they mean Pecca? If so, you seem remarkably reluctant to use them in a sentence. In fact I don't think you have uttered any of those terms once in this thread, despite plenty of questions about them directed to you. Is it unreasonable for people to try to figure out whether you can speak English?

freedom of association
justice
collective punishment

The only response you are capable of seems to be "... but ... but ... but ... they are self declared criminals!"

Link me up, Scottie - no sign of a declaration of criminality here!

**Bikie at the Passport office:-

"And what is your occupation, Mr Rydah?"

"Self-declared Queensland criminal!"

"OK - give me a moment.. ..ummmm...we can list you under 'political dissident'.. or would you prefer 'aspiring politician'?"

"Well - I'm making a statement - let's use 'aspiring politician'.... I failed my brain surgery exam."

"Sorry to hear that... work harder next time.  Aspiring politician it is then... here's your pink rubber stamp!"

you mean IGNORANT society members who think there in danger by a group of bikies assembling together. Every person at that resurant at the Gold coast could have and should have left that night, then their wouldn't have been this public outcry fueled by the media with all the cell phone footage.

You should add presumption of innocence.

I'd still like to see what happens when their day in court comes around.  I think there is more than meets the eye here, and what we read in the media is superficial. If they were just a family having a friendly drink together, why were they reported to police?

At this point we will allege there are a number of declared criminal motorcycle gang members who have associated together knowingly in a public place and committed an offence in regard to the legislation," he said.

so the police say they were known criminals..

so if you saw a group of men together and you knew they robbed houses as a career..

you FD would turn a blind eye as they were only in a group chatting...even though they happened to be in your street...OK..

you hold no fear and have faith in all human s.. thats great! Smiley

Fact is.....they were just having a drink together after work and three were truly 'family' + two friends.  It is not known that they were 'reported.'  The Yandina Hotel is a very regular watering hole, and the Cops may have just done a random audit of its camera footage.

Everyone who has been to prison is a known criminal.....

Does that mean they should not be free to have a drink with friends?

I'd be more worried about people that are actually committing crimes, rather than those that are minding their own business.

You must have read a different account. In the one I read, it said that they were reported. It didn't say that they were family and two "friends" either.  It just said that the police did not confirm or deny that some were related.

More information here:

http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/yandina-five-rebels-bikies-may-spe...

Quote:
Three of the men, patched Rebels bikies Steven Smith, 28, and Paul Lansdowne, 57, as well as Smith's brother-in-law Joshua Carew, 30, were already facing charges including trafficking and production over an alleged methamphetamine ring.

Quote:
The trio are being held in the Brisbane watchhouse with Smith's brother Scott Conley, 36, and Dan Whale, 26, who were also at the Yandina pub on November 1.
