SO2 does in fact have an effective negative forcing. In this case you are wrong. You might have to eat humble pie. However once China (and Australia to a lesser effect) cleans up its act with respect to aerosol emissions, the net effect will be even worse.

SO2 is a precursor to stratospheric sulphate aerosols.

This is well known, and is referenced in all the IPCC technical reports.

Of course, the net effect is warming, and as CO2 concentrations increase they negate the sulphate forcings even more so.

Do you normally cherry a data point that suits you, such as the 1998 point and then cherry pick another point to compare it to?
