I've been playing and watching and listening to cricket for decades.  It was today for the first time I heard the 'Gabba given that description.

Similar, 'Skull' of pie chucking fame also introduced to Australia (two days ago) the expression 'Mums and Dads,' referring to ~ pads.

This contrived crap ought be resisted.

The tortoise is never going to reach the finishing post with 550 runs to go and 8 wickets to do it within.

It's not a one test series.

Nobody said that it was a one test series. We are celebrating a likely win to Australia. Some of us might have popped the champagne before the last wicket has fallen, but we are confident of an emphatic victory.

You are aware we gave you an absolute arse raping in the last series.

I've always thought we'd win 2-1 this time and your one was ways likely to be Brisbane.

I wouldn't go cracking open your champagne yet.

Personally, I would agree that the English would have won the series 3-nil in England (2013) even if all the irrefutable disputes of English wickets had fallen our way, and Haddin had gotten the benefit of the doubt. The fact remains that the Australians lost their momentum (their "desire") in winning the games. Perhaps the washed out test might likely have made it 3-1 to England, but it still would have been a series win to England.

But that's old news when Australia weren't in top form.

Agreed ... and it will be good to watch whatever happens. 180 overs to go, 8 wickets in hand and over 500 to get. Not many sides can win with that equation and a draw requires meteorological intervention.
