Couldn't see anything there on neodymium. I may have missed it; but I don't think so.

CHina seems to have a pollution problem that Western countries regulated out years ago. Just because there is some local pollution doesn't mean that it's inevitable.

And China is the source of most manufacturing. It still doesn't make it Green.

It makes it much less of a problem. Local environmental harm is less serious than regional, which is less serious than global.

Reverse Nimbyism. The Chinese Manufacturers are grots. No other countries make that kind of mess and get off with it. Sooner or later they will put in pollution control. They probably have already in some cases.

If anyone is genuinely interested, Barnard on Wind pretty effectively addresses common objections to wind power;

You know that when they start out with "Much of the disinformation is spread by astroturf organizations funded by mid-sized, undiversified, fossil fuel companies and their billionaire owners." you can pretty well discount any further information as just the rantings of a paranoid conspiracy theory freak  Grin

Correction, hash and the ragtag eco socialists here would immediately stop reading if their sources didn't start with exactly this type of paranoid conspiracy theory lead.

It makes them feel that god is on their side, and he'll be sending a storm or a flood, some locusts, or some other form of pestilence to the front door of any non believer as soon as practicable (or as soon as the tax payer funded grants can be accessed)  Grin Grin Grin Grin

Apparently Australia is at fault for selling coal to the Chinese, and it's our fault that the Chinese manufacture items that we want but no longer manufacture. But it's the fault of the Chinese for manufacturing neodymium magnets that the world wants.

OK, so your obsession is with neodymium. I should probably ask which wingnut blog you got that from, but I'm really not interested.

It's called research. And that you are not interested is a sign of the times.

Wow all the brilliant minds on this site should get together and develop a decent power storage system.

That would solve a lot of the problems with renewables.
