I have to agree. Calling someone a "spineless apologetic" is not personal abuse. I don't recall any time FD has been personally abusive either.

Still, if he insists on not having a moderator, it wouldn't hurt if he would clamp down a bit on people who are abusive. It happens fairly regularly here.

Calling Brian a spineless apologetic is the truth, some people cannot handle the truth. Cheesy Grin Smiley Cool

I think FD is giving Abu a chance to return, did he ask you to go to the forum at aussiemuslims and ask Abu if you could take over as moderator?

Leftists and the Ayatollahs have a lot in common when it comes to criticism of Islam, they don't tolerate it.

Yes he did. I tried to register there, but no one bothered to activate my account. The forum seems pretty dead actually.

I agree with Brian's opening post.

You'll notice he doesn't entirely call for a ban on gentle stirring, or even a one-off sledging every now and then.

Since I first sat down to a PC I've never understood the unbridled
RAGE
that so many forum members feel towards their politically opposite numbers.

Is this an Aussie thing? I don't know. The larrikin spirit manifesting itself with head-kicking animosity? I've been getting a clearer idea of why there is such violent aggression by parents on the sidelines watching their boys playing footy at the local meet.

Freediver has refused to appoint a new moderator in this moderatorless forum.  Why?

It is obvious he finds it convenient for there to be no moderator.  Without a moderator to control the quality and direction of debate, the place has become a series of petty, squabbling , repetitive threads, in which he and others are allowed to post the most abusive and childish threads and personal attacks, to their heart's content.

It was worse when there was a moderator. All those attacks were addressed to the same person: the moderator. Abu said this, Abu said that, what does Abu think about this?

FD misses Abu no end. Gandalf isn't nearly as good a foe.

This issue highlights the important role the Muselmen has as arch-villain and a distraction from our own problems. As the old boy says, "they are the enemy, they have always been the enemy, their very existence is to be the enemy".

Your Muselman, you see, is the enemy you have when you don't have an enemy. This, of course, makes him a friend. And with friends like these...

You're right. We need a moderator more than ever. It would give everybody a nice new target.

Allah Uakbar.

Yes, fair point. However Abu somewhat made a target of himself by engaging in the tired old muslim defense of simply launching into tirades about how terrible christians and other non-muslims are. Though I may be being a bit unfair, I was only here right at the end of his period here, and by then he might have (understandably) reached the end of his tether. I have seen some historical posts of his where he genuinely did try and engage in constructive debate.

Hmmm, so FD is a gay activist Mossad agent who's filled with hate?

Interesting poll I must say.

Sledging I draw the line at Herbie.  Gentle stirring is OK.
