I just love the double standard from Longstupidone and his ilk

Labor wins an election promising an ETS but libs have a mandate to oppose it

Libs win an election promising to scrap the carbon tax and labor supposedly has a mandate to support them?

Wake up you clown!

so were the liberal right or wrong?  or do you even care about apply stsndards across the board?  the best thing about this question is that you only have two options 1) be a hypocrite or 2) support the CT repeal.

you will however choose 3) - fail to understand the entire post and come up with some waffle.

If the Libs believed in mandates we would've had an ETS since 2008 so any bleating from these lying con artists is a waste of time.
Just shut up and bring on the DD so we can rid ourselves of these arrogant thieves and charlatans.

Labor are not supporting a carbon tax, they are supporting a market driven carbon price.

A market driven carbon price is very good policy. By far the most effective means to reduce co2 emissions.

If Mr Abbott scraps the carbon tax by transitioning it to a ETS, the he will have Labors full support.

No carbon tax and no ETS is economic stupidity and has very little support in the public.

huh???  did the election result totally elude you?  the people DONT WANT A CARBONTAX OR ETS.  the point is moot anyhow.  if labor refuse to support the repeal it will only be repealed 6 months later anyhow.  They are skewering themselves to no avail.

All polls that specifically asked whether you wanted a market driven approach to climate change came out heavily in favour of "yes".

It impossible to believe that Australia would be the first and only every country to undo carbon emissions legislation as the world gets hotter and hotter.

Abbott's opposition to a carbon tax was opportunistic at the time. Hopefully common sense will prevail now.

A) its not getting hotter and hotter.  it hasn't gotten warmer for 17 year and prior to that it has risen 0.8 degrees and nothing more.
B) polls that actually ask if people want a carbon tax/ETS actually come out strongly against.  most polls hysterics quote are the ones that as 'do you believe in climate change' and then extrapolate that to support for an ETS

Actually it is getting hotter and hotter even during this short period of plateauing in atmosphere temperatures.

NZ Ice levels in the Southern Alps dropped by almost 15 per cent in the past four years

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11138854

There was a similar plateauing in the 1960s followed by record heat.

The upward trend does not go in a straight line even when the trend is for hotter and hotter.

Thank goodness the pro science lefties are on the correct side of this.

goodness me greenswhine at least can you always move back to south island NZ...yummy and cool down there...you will love it....

when you off then???

Seriously Gizz

Really? you've jumped from reasonable doubts with good questions, to the above garbage?

No one is telling anyone how to breath, all the "Carbon Tax" does is put a price on pollution.

The Restaurant down the road has to pay to have it's grease traps emptied.

The servo down the road has to pay to get its used motor oil/tyres & batteries removed & disposed of correctly.

Christ even I have to pay if I have a clean out & take a trip to the dump.(And I'm not allowed to even bring other stuff home NOW!!!!!!!)

Why should emitters of carbon dioxide be different to the rest of the community?

because it's not pollution?  it is in fact, what makes all our plant life live and with more of it they grow faster an stronger.  you can disagree if you want but don't make the assumption that everyone thinks CO2 is pollution coz most don't.

You're STILL trying to flog THAT old furphy ?

If you were engaging in social media this past weekend, you might have found an October 13, 2012 article suggesting that global warming stopped 16 years ago.

David Rose of the Daily Mail wrote it. The article says the UK Met Office sent out a news release saying its data showed that global warming has stopped and that there is no “discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures.”

It now comes to light
that this information is not true.

The UK Met Office did not release a statement suggesting that “global warming stopped 16 years ago.” The UK Met Office, in fact, disavows any association with Mr. Rose and his article and says it was never asked any questions regarding the actual science of climate change and global warming by Mr. Rose

I keep hearing that governments are voted out and oppositions are not voted in ????

Obviously people did not vote for any mandate.
