The Senate

Likely make up according to the Australian website

Greens 10

Labor 27

Libs and Nats 33

Others 2
Xenophon
DLP

In doubt

1 seat in SA ~ 3 way between Xenophon, Libs, and Greens

1 seat in Qld ~ 3 way between
Katter, Palmer and Greens

1 in NSW ~ 2 way between
1 Nation and Libs

A.C.T ~ 2 way between
Libs and Greens.

Unlikely Abbott will get control so to be prepared, to me the most likely path for Abbott would to call a DD at the first opportunity before people go off the coalition.

Agree?

10 for the Greens? That doesn't sound right to me. Also, the last NSW spot is likely to be between One Nation and the Greens, not One Nation and the Coalition.

Bring it on baby!

He couldn't possibly give a bigger boost to the greens by calling an effective referendum on climate change.

By the way, I've been hearing the media rabbit on about double dissolutions for as long as I can remember. But it never happens.

That would be a great result.

There doesn't seem to be much outstanding regarding their costings, so I wouldn't expect that to change anyone's opinion much.

I certainly don't see SURPLUS standing out in that lot of mediocrity.

NSW
Oz has it between 1 Nation and Libs.
Go Greens' Cate Faehrmann.

Also they are giving a seat to the Greens in WA, where Scott Ludlam has a bit of a challenge considering so called progressive parties like Wiki and Sex are preferencing the hard right over the Greens.

10 is the total already and re-elected ... plus possibly another three Greens, if they all go our way.

Just sems a bit high to me, and I hope that One Nation and the Libs get in over Cate Faehrmann. Will probably be close either way,

Ya gotta laugh at Abbott saying that Labor will not cause a DD, because he reckons they will be decimated.  Quaint, wot.  On that basis, yed reckon he'd be encouraging them to cause one.

Cheesy

I don't think Zed Seselja is under any serious threat from Simon Sheikh.

Also, I'll eat my hat if Nick Xenophon loses.

Interesting wikileaks aren't even considered in that projection.

It will be entertaining to see a hostile senate.

Abbott will have to negotiate - something that he doesn't seem to be all that strong at.

Also, I think Abbott needs some educating regarding how our democracy works. If the nation refuses to hand the coalition a majority in the senate, then you don't have a mandate to scrap the carbon tax Mr Abbott. Its as simple as that Angry

I've worked at the polling booths and I can honestly say that quite a large percentage of people still don't have a clue who they will vote for as they walk towards the polling booths.

Most people have little interest in politics and even less knowledge about the parties or the candidates. Most people don't even know the name of their local member of parliament.

Simon is in the mix with preferences if Libs get less than 33.3%

He might have to take his daughters into parliament with him, they've got negotiating power.
