Abbott is saying exactly the same thing.

He won't be able to repeal the tax - it's already tied into the international carbon credit exchange agreement which we've signed up to.

I think Abbott would be getting quite worried by now that he won't be able to fulfill any of his promises.

anyone that changes their mind so blatantly as gillard did... anything to be in power.. deserves all they get...she has opened a pandoras box I have said that since day one..every PM or wannabee can do the same thing......lie through their teeth then use anything for any excuse to do the opposite.... this wasnt just not doing what they promised to do......

this was doing what they said they WOULD NOT do...and no it doesnt matter what is said after the fact... THERE WILL BE NO.... means there WILL BE NO...

well it did at one stage gillard has changed those boundaries..

I'm sick of hearing about it to be honest, and it's one area where I agree with Abbott.

that is interesting as I remember gillard being very smug about locked in cant change it..yet he hasnt changed on it has he???? so who knows what the truth is...

and since when cant a govt change something ????... you know people did not vote on a CARBON TAX this is the problem....

had she not gone so far as to say what she did..... do you wonder what the vote would have been??????..

we do and I think its wrong that she got away with it... thanks to the greens...we should have had a vote on it this I think will always be the point with the CARBON TAX....it wasnt fairdinkum.

Yes Gillard stuffed up by not talking about the reasons why she had to implement the tax - and then she ignored our complaints, but the same thing will happen with Abbott. He won't be able to undo the legislation in a hurry, if ever and he keeps saying "what he will undo".

You say you are being compensated - so in reality are you paying more for your bills when you offset the compensation?

If Abbott is able to repeal the tax - do you think the electricity suppliers will suddenly reduce our bills? They'll find an excuse to maintain the higher prices, but it will be without compensation.
