$4500 - 90% = $450 per month x 12 months = $5400 in tax per annum

"I find those idiots who say 'this is the best country in the world' have never experienced living anywhere fking else."

He was referring to idiot cousins on mine in England but the principle is the same.

I happen to find many countries many things.

For overall lifestyle for me, the United States is the best on average.
It has some social issues sure, but they don't affect me.

Australia, as nice as it is, is far too expensive, too highly taxed, too socialist in its mindset on education and welfare and the people are just a bit insular for my liking.
Nonetheless though it is the country of my birth and I do consider myself an Australian, even though the passport is expired.
I did promise Immigration next time I'll have it re-newed before I arrive again.

So don't give me this "orrrrrrrstraaaaaaya is the best place in the world" bollocks.

However - what is not in dispute - is that I am an Australian and I have every right to criticise it for wanting it to be better than it is.
That is not the act of a traitor.

Even my current passport (GBR) says "Place of Birth - Melbourne, Australia"

They are not my figures, they are the correct ones.
Up to June 30, I paid over $60,000 in tax per annum for the years I was there.
This ignore tax adjustments which occur post the tax year and treated separately with the lodgements of my Trust company and holding entity.

So? I have a nephew that was born in Norway, but he is not a Norweign citizen ... he is Australian, he has an Aussie passport ... the fact that you were born in Australia does not make you Australian ...
