that is for the processors overseas.. that we already are paying to do this job...I cant imagine too many gatecrashers in those camps just people who will get on the end of the endless queue...

What processors overseas? We decide on resettlement and there is no queue, so again, how do you feel about those we pick above others who have been waiting longer?

It isn't so much about the media telling lies it is more that inportant sections of the media have been driving a campaign to achieve a political ragime change.

Media have policy in place aimed at forcing a change of government and have been executing that plan for a long time now.

As I've said before - it's time for Australia to withdraw from the UN Refugee Convention.

Or, at least we need a referendum on it (yeah, like that's ever going to happen).

The 1951 UN Refugee Convention is well past it's use by date. It was drawn up to help the many people (mainly Europeans) who were displaced by World War 2. Not the current flood of Middle Eastern country shoppers.

that is a simplistic understanding of our obligations and cacpacity. there is a very big difference between asylum and refugee. and as has already bene established, an awful lot of them are country shoppers, having already passed thru a number of countries to reach us. This is not a simple question. My point remains that if you want to find what australian voters believe then you have to ask the right questions.

You are as naive on this issue as dummy maqqa. Country shoppers, no. Seeking asylum, perfectly legal and within refugee convention.
And the convention provides a very simplistic view on our obligations. It's the political narrative that seeks to complicate it.

The only hope for gillard is if she can import enough boat bludgers/lifetime labor voters in the next six months to turn the tide, she's been doing good work on that front so far but alas I don't think she will get the numbers, if only she had another term, as the leftist leaders of Europe have discovered once you import the critical mass of unemployed asylum seekers into your country a conservative government will never be voted in ever again and that is a leftys and unemployed asylum seekers wet dream come true.
