It doesn't help misrepresenting my position.

I've made my position very clear. A statistical pause in surface temperatures does not represent a pause in global warming.

The physics has not changes. Our oceans are heating up and it won't be long before some of this heat is transferred to our atmosphere.

I can't find any fault in Rabbitoh's argument.

It seems, Longy, that your whole argument is based on Lloyd's paraphrasing.

It would be very easy for you to prove otherwise.

this entire debate has nothing to do with your position. it actually boils down to whether or not you believe the IPCC cheif said there had been  apause of 17 years in warming, he did. you've seen the quotes. Hansen also accepts it. This stupid deabte isnt on what the pause means or even unbelievably if the pause has happened but rather did the IPCC day it had happened.

BTW your first sentence acknowledges it has happened. So how can you possibly support rabbit-turds and his idiotic circular argument?

He didn't.  The article your reference claimed he said the exact opposite.  It claimed he said:
said it would need to last "30 to 40 years at least" to break the long-term global warming trend.

You lied.

This is not a "debate" Longy.

You were caught red-handed telling lies.  Simple as that.

And you are too gutless to admit that you read an article in The Australian, misunderstood what it said - and then started telling lies about it.

and he is 100% correct.

You really don't understand, do you?
You really are that stupid, aren't you?

You have been sucked in by The Australian, have not understood a single word you read - and now use it as an excuse to tell silly lies.  You really are pathetic.

How about you grow up a bit, stop telling lies - and actually try to learn a little bit about the subject you are trying to discuss?

Still waiting for you to explain how the earth could have stopped warming when all physical indicators say otherwise

Why do you tell lies and then run away?

Oceans are fairly flat in temps 10yrs 0 - 700mtrs. Lower Atmosphere is fairly flat in temps 17years.

I dont run away from the question. I run away from the doomsday cult loons.

When it comes to co2, it is the atmosphere you watch to see what it is doing. Is flat as a tack and co2 is going up and up.

Why is progs pretending the oceans are only 700m deep.

If the oceans temperatures have been flat over the past 10 years, why has there been no drop off in thermal expansion. Why have our sea levels risen over this period of time. Well, it's because our oceans are much deeper than 700m, and in recent years this has been where the heat has been accumulating. We actually have data for the band between 700m and 2000m. Quite a substantial amount of data. While data coverage is 50% less than the 0-700m band, it's more than enough to get a very good picture.

Let's amuse progs and pretend the ocean is only 700m deep. If most of the heat is accumulating in the oceans, why is he claiming warming stopped 17 years ago, when he appears to accept the oceans have warmed significantly in this period of time.

significantly???? you need to use a scale that is ultra small to even show the increase.

Go on, Longy. Tell us the period of time and how much heat you are talking about.

has it ever occured to you that for millenia past the oceans have bene heatsinks and temperature controllers over the variations in climatic conditions? the biosphere has suddenly started absorbing temperature into the oceans including colder deeper water coming up to the surface to improve heat absorption. So what does it mean?? it means that we suddenly discover that the oceasns absorb temperture and then make outlandish assumptions on what it means.

The biosphere is extraordinaly self regulating and moderating. Temperature rises from whatever means are handled automatically by feeback systems we know nothing about and in our arrogance, ignore. it is more than probable that whatever the real reasons are for the recent moderate increases in temperature, that the biosphere is respoding with its feedback systems to moderate it.

what we have zero evidence for is this notion of tipping points or catastrophic climate change. none whatsoever. all of these predictions are based on no response from the biosphere when there is clearly a great deal of it going on.

i have zero concern over ACC because i see zero evidence of any climate change outside of historical norms. It has been hotter in the past, wetter and drier as well as colder. I still see no evidence of any tendency for climate to exceed these historical ranges. none at all.

Because he uses cherry picked data, and he does it all the time. That is where this so called 17 year pause has come from.
It is a common tactic.

The 17 year pause is MET data. If they and you dont know that 0.5 equals 0.5, then you and they are the dummies.
