The global warming soothsayers also predicted an increase in the amount of cyclones and in their severity up here in the north.
We are still waiting, and the wet season is over in a few weeks.
They might need new tea leaves, the old computer models just aren't up to the task.

Yes.  Just like how they pathetically cling to the column by some idiot in the Daily Mail with that "no warming for 17 years" crap.

Nobody as madly stubborn than lefties (Gillard's suckettes!)

I've heard Prof. Bob Carter, Prof. Plimer, other eminents say that leftards aren't telling the truth. There has not been any warming for 17 years.

Last summer we had about 5 hot days, 3 of which were record-breaking. Other days had lower than average temperatures. My daughter and I switched on our air conditioner for three of these days and were (economically) tolerant during the other days.

The worst is if a hot day doesn't cool after sunset. That usually happens when the wind is blowing from north west wastelands.

Liars.

NASA's confirmed it

A PAUSE in global temperature rises, confirmed by the British Met Office and NASA climate scientist James Hanson, was temporary and science would win out over climate change denial, public ethics professor Clive Hamilton said yesterday.

Professor Hamilton's comments follow acknowledgement by IPCC chairman Rajendra Pachauri of the British Met Office's downward revision of its forecast global temperature average to 2017. The downward revision has been widely reported internationally as meaning the global average temperature would have remained steady, at a record high level, for two decades.

Dr Hansen, from the NASA Institute for Space Studies, has also acknowledged the pause in global temperature rises over the past decade.

you have to give the ACC hysterics their due. They have sold a lot of people on the blatant lie and done it well. Now if only their science was as good as their marketing!

The only blatant lie I have see here is you claiming that the IPCC have said there has been no warming for 17 years.

When asked why you told that lie - you show us an article from The Australian that contains no quotes from the IPCC, buts implies that the head of the IPCC said the exact opposite of what you claim.

Why did you tell that lie?

Are you very dishonest?
Or just really stupid?

If you heard  Prof. Bob Carter, Prof. Plimer say there has not been any warming for 17 years, then they are wrong.  And you probably should stop listening to Alan Jones or wherever you may have heard that crap.
THere has been warming for the past 17 years.  it is clear and unambiguous.
The oceans are warming.
Glaciers are melting
The arctic ice cap is melting
The troposphere is warming
And in every single one of the past 17 years, the surface temperature has been higher than the long term average.

The earth is warming.

Yes - last summer was impacted by La Nina, which makes it cooler than normal.

However - even though last summer was a La Nina year - it was sill the 11th warmest summer on record.
http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/current/season/aus/archive/201202.summary.shtml

The summer just gone was the hottest ever recorded, and we are still not even in El Nino yet.

Maybe.

But you you think he is a very dishonest person to tell lies like he does?
Or simply a very stupid person who does not even realise he is telling lies?

He  claimed that the IPCC have said there has been no warming for 17 years.

I guess, if he is a very dishonest person, that would not rule out that he may be a very stupid person as well.

as a student of psychology and published author in the discipline, it is quite fascinating watching your complete paranoid delusion in operation. the quotes have been shown to you time and time again yet you seem literally unable to see them. You adopt a position and no facts are able to dissuade you. In fact, you dont even accept that they exist.

Your mental illness is much more interesting than corpulant_whineys paranoid delusions and wharfys gardne variety insanity.

Resorting to ad hominem again, longy. You really are a disappointment.

I guess it must be easier than cutting and pasting.

FFS, longy. All you need to do is cut and paste. How much longer are you going to continue this charade.

Errr...no - nobody has predicted an increase in the amount of cyclones in the north.

You are either mistaken, or trying to set up a silly straw man

What has been predicted is:
Australian region studies indicate a likely increase in the proportion of the tropical cyclones in the more intense categories, but a possible decrease in the total number of cyclones.
http://climatechangeinaustralia.gov.au/documents/resources/TR_Web_Ch5iv.pdf

This is being observed:
Trends in tropical cyclone activity in the Australian region (south of equator; 105 - 160°E) show that the total number of cyclones has decreased in recent decades. However, the number of stronger cyclones (minimum central pressure less than 970 hPa) has not declined.
http://www.bom.gov.au/cyclone/climatology/trends.shtml

Please don't make things up.

CTRL-X/CTRL-V
Easy as that .

Show us that you were not telling a lie when you wrote that the IPCC said there was no warming for 17 years.

We have seen the article from The Australian that doesn't say that at all.  So now, please tell us why you told that lie.

Did you think that that was what the article from The Australian actually said?  Is that is?!?!  Come on, own up.  We won't think any less of you if you admit to being a bit thick.

the pasting has bene done time and time again as you yourself know. that the IPCC cheif said that there had been a 17 year paus in global warming is not indispute as even you have admitted it as such. james Hansen  - an ACC luminary - has said the same thing - as you already know.

What good do you think it does to your credibility to support this rabbit-clown in his idiotic denial of the blatently proven? Why not admit that he is a moron and move on. Im happy to ignore nutjobs like monkton etc. why dont you ditch support for your side's embarrasing twats and move on as well.

since you accept that the IPCC said these things why dont YOU try and convince rabbit-droppings of it. perhaps you will have more luck than the rest of us or maybe you too will discover his paranoid delusional state.

your choice.

It doesn't help misrepresenting my position.

I've made my position very clear. A statistical pause in surface temperatures does not represent a pause in global warming.

The physics has not changes. Our oceans are heating up and it won't be long before some of this heat is transferred to our atmosphere.

I can't find any fault in Rabbitoh's argument.

It seems, Longy, that your whole argument is based on Lloyd's paraphrasing.

It would be very easy for you to prove otherwise.
