A PAUSE in global temperature rises, confirmed by the British Met Office and NASA climate scientist James Hanson, was temporary and science would win out over climate change denial, public ethics professor Clive Hamilton said yesterday.

Professor Hamilton's comments follow acknowledgement by IPCC chairman Rajendra Pachauri of the British Met Office's downward revision of its forecast global temperature average to 2017. The downward revision has been widely reported internationally as meaning the global average temperature would have remained steady, at a record high level, for two decades.

Dr Hansen, from the NASA Institute for Space Studies, has also acknowledged the pause in global temperature rises over the past decade.

It's already been well established that the author of the article you keep on quoting has a problem with comprehension. He does not provide direct quotes in his article, rather he reinterprets what he thinks they have said. We don't want a shills reinterpretation we want a direct quote, Maqqa.

Now either admit that you are wrong or provide direct evidence.

Honestly, Maqqa, does it look like the atmospheric warming has stopped. See how 1998 sticks out like dogs balls. And that's ignoring what's happening in our oceans where 90% of the heat is accumulating.

...

You won't find direct quotes because none of the bodies you refer to believe global warming has stopped.

Nature isn't interested in statistical games, it just responds. It's why there is less permafrost than there was 17 years ago.

Hunt says Coalition accepts IPCC findings

"What does this mean? It means that we need to do practical things that actually reduce emissions."

Interesting Hanson and Miller both work for NASA that probably cause more CO2 emissions per employee than the vast majority of industries globally. So their hypocrites first and foremost.
Secondly the climate change industry is built around statistical games.Third are you using permafrost as a proxy for temperature and extrapolating it to the whole globe...? Because if you are in keeping with you statement that these scientific methods (proxies/reconstructions) do not provide any answers as in "no proof that it was hotter " then you have also no proof of historical thawing/refreezing.either.

The Bureau of Meteorology has confirmed that Australia has just experienced its hottest summer on record.

The bureau says the previous hottest summer - measured by average day and night figures from across the nation - was in 1997-98.

Sorry "righties" and "climate change deniers"

After 1 summer of hottest weather on average since 1998 and constant temperature for the last 17 years - climate change is back with a vengeance!!

Based on this 1 figure - lefties will tell you to build an Ark

Ohh yeah!!

My daughter and I felt cold most of the last summer with the exception of three days of record-breaking heat. That's how many days we switched on the air conditioner!

Alan Jones said the same this morning - three hot days and the rest moderate.

Of course the mad lefties trumpet "global warming"
That is just to justify their inane predictions of terrible heat.

How about Flannery's "not enough rain to fill dams"?

A cricket bat at the lot of them would straighten them out.

Jo Nova!  ha ha.

She has less credibility than screaming not-a Lord Monckton.

Seriously, where do you deniers dig these people up from ?

If you spent a 1/1000th of the time reviewing these deniers sites as you do the science, you'd throw the lot out.

I hadn't used the air conditioner for 4 years before this year and only used it for 5 days in the whole summer. Thats pretty good going for a country burning up from AGW co2 BS.

Data manipulation is the order of the day for these government organisations around the world. There is only so much cooling the past and warming the present they can do. The only reason we have a pause in 17 years is because they have done so much manipulation, they couldnt do any more or be outright exposed by their own manipulation.

You certainly did make up IPCC statement.

You lied.

You said:

"the IPCC, the UK MET and NASA have "confirmed" there has been "no warming for 17 years".

THe article from THe Australian says nothing of the sort.

But you now appear to be admitting at least that you are really, really stupid and gullible to be sucked in by a crap article.  Why you added the lie about "the IPCC,.. have "confirmed" there has been "no warming for 17 years" though cannot be put down to your stupidity.

That was just plain dishonest.

What the article actually attributed to Pachuri was:
he said it would need to last "30 to 40 years at least" to break the long-term global warming trend.

NOT:
"the IPCC,.. have "confirmed" there has been "no warming for 17 years"

You lied

THere has been no pause in global warming for 17 years.

Oceans have continued to warm
Glacial mass balance has continued to decline
The arctic ice cap has continued to decline
Sea levels have continued to rise.
Every single one of the past 17 years has had an average global surface temperature greater than the long term average

THis would not happen if there was a pause in global warming for 17 years.
