LeFt v Right

The continuous argument will carry on with great vigour during an election year. Already some patterns are emerging.

Many of us on the left have little time for the current government or the PM. But those on the right, headed by Mindless Maqqa, are convinced Abbott and the Liberals can do nothing wrong.

Orwell's "Four legs good, two legs bad" has been replaced by "Liberals good, Labor baaaaad" no matter what the topic.

Why is this? Why is it that if his beloved Abbott was found in bed with a troop of Girl Guides, Maqqa would parrot about how wonderful it was to see him taking an interest in the youth of the country?

I think the reason is simple. Maqqa and his mates have lost all capacity of thought and reason. Like Orwell's sheep they have become cannon fodder, Abbott's flock.

It's about accountability for the promises they made during an election and how they've carried it out during their term of government

You mean like Tony Abbotts "iron clad guarantee" before the 2004 election that he wouldn't change medicare........and after the election that is exactly what he did.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-07-22/abbott-defends-broken-promise/2805876

I agree with the op. I see the coalition as the worse of two evils but the "coalition cheer squad" seem to have thrown reason out of the window with their doting of the coalition.

(1) Lets assume Abbott lied here - how does that make Gillard's lie acceptable?

(2) Abbott's change is an issue for the Budget - Swan's been changing his mind about budget spending for the last 5 Budgets

(3) You are now trying to compare a Budget issue with implementing a brand new policy system of the Carbon Tax?

However you want to compare - Australians are astute enough to see that the Carbon Tax lie is alot different to the so called Medicare lie

No, Maqqa, the ones beIng called to account in this thread and you and your cronies, people like Swagman, for example? It's Liberal toadies/Labor haters being called out here.

Don't give me that "accountability" crap. You never hold the Liberals accountable for anything .

For the record, I think Gillard has been an utter failure of a PM.

However I have no confidence that Tony Abbott is any better.
I think he's an excellent attack opposition leader but not good on putting his own policies forward, whereas Turnbull (my preferred PM) is.

However to say "All liberal good. All Labor bad"?

Have a look at someone like Buzz who forms his view on something based on who said it!

Adelcrow would pin the Lindbergh kidnapping on Abbott if he could and will never give him any credit.

It is sad the lack of objectivity on here.

Given I won't vote and am insulated from the errors of any policy, maybe I am afforded the luxury of objectivity.

Isnt labor/gillard just full of themselves.

I heard that gillard is happy that the carbon tax is behind her now come next election.

Sorry to break it to you, but people are just sick of telling you that you f'ed up and are a liar.

We are just waiting for the next election to get rid of you and labor and couldnt be bothered telling you any further.

Very true, but the same goes for many on the left with Labor.

Yea, maqqa, I agree, it's a lie to call the price on carbon a tax. When you're able to provide a receipt with a carbon tax listed on it Ill believe you.  You see Australians with a brain larger than yours, so 99.99 % of the population, would understand via the news footage available that Gillard said if elected she would price carbon, but there's always a couple of dumbfvcks tha don't understand even the simplest statements.
