People starting bushfires has nothing to do with climate change. A number of the fires that we have had lately have been deliberately lit or accidently by some farmers. Remember the warning not to park your vehicle over long grass - especially if it is dry. Whoosh!!

Theories with convincing evidence dont need to appeal to consensus; they stand on their merits.

That's correct.

The AGW hypothesis has no credible convincing evidence and as such the followers of this religion constantly resort to nonsense such as "consensus", irrational fear-mongering, hyperbole, data manipulation, and outright lies.

If they just ignored all the BS and looked at the science they'd soon realise exactly how weak their hypothesis actually is.

You do realize your musings on this topic support climate change, don’t you, Greggery? You just repeat the same thing again and again. Even Alan gets creative once in a while.

Each post from Rabbito and Muso defeats your blurb every time they contribute something to this discussion. Even Death gets the better of you.

I apologise profusely if you’re parodying the denialists. If you are, you’re spot on. I’d just whack the odd Alan quote in to legitimise your position. Soren does a good job at this.

I must say, I love the call to science and reason - classic denialist tactic. Good job.

Shocked

Quote:
Just how much of the "Greenhouse Effect" is caused by human activity?

It is about 0.28%, if water vapor is taken into account-- about 5.53%, if not.

This point is so crucial to the debate over global warming that how water vapor is or isn't factored into an analysis of Earth's greenhouse gases makes the difference between describing a significant human contribution to the greenhouse effect, or a negligible one

why do you say that. His point is the devastatingly powerful one that it is up to the ACC to prove their hypothesis - a job they are doing rather poorly. MOTR isnt proving his point at all by repeatedly posting the same graph and refusing to engage in debates on the topic. We dont have to 'get creative'. All we have to do is ask them to prove their case and then sit around while they spectacularly fail.

I understand where you are coming from, and thanks for the advice. But I have met many like him (or her) who try to intimidate others by making out that they are much larger than they actually are. I just feel sorry for them and try to help them. And this is one character that certainly does need help. Obviously the rules here are foreign to him/her?

Do you say the same about  people who accept gravity Gregerry?
After all - it is only a theory.

Or is this just something you have "faith" in?
I know that you have told us that you do not understand the science.  It is only a faith issue for you.

I do not want to make fun of your religion.
