But Labor didn't win the election. Technically, the Liberals did but did not have enough of a majority to win office outright. Labor copped a hiding and the Greens were given an almighty back-handed slap in the face by an electorate fed-up with the ALP and Greens.

gee I wonder if both Zed Seselja and Tony Abbott are now going to take back their claim that the liberals have a moral mandate to govern - based on their false assessment that the libs had the most seats and a greater share of the vote.

Thats the assessment that even the Greens made of the result. Losing a massive proporion of their vote is hardly a 'success'.

I think the election was great for two reasons. The first is that the Greens lost 3 out of 4 seats which is a good indicator nation wide of their vote going down the toilet. The second is that it shows people once again that a vote for the Greens is a vote for Labor. The Green had made up his mind on election night but wanted to make it seem like he was actually considering the Libs but it was all a going through the motions farce. He was always going to go Labor.

Good to see commonsense win for once, unlike the stupid choice of the electorate in NSW, Qld and the NT. None of those three had any right giving the Coalition power, let alone such massive landslide wins.

Isn't democracy such an inconvenience!

Labor won?

As had JuLiar won, dancing to the Greenies' crazy songs.

Where is Bob Brown stinking, these days?

What economy is he undermining?

A pity that the stupid out-weigh the sensible every time an election is called.

Don't the stupid resent rising electricity bills? Knowing how the country is burdened with debt?

How can anyone worry about whether Abbott hates women or not when he or she has to look at the quarterly account or hear how many boatpeople JuLiar welcomed overnight?

This poll has labor and the Greens worried. Despite polls suggesting that there is a lift in labor's vote, this election was the worst EVER result for labor and greens. This has given them pause to think that perhaps the federal polls are very soft and that the actual result is nowhere near as close.

Well yes we did here in Queensland because the former labor government missmanged the finances and the state. We even had a 10 million dollar fraud in the health department, that won't ever be able to be recoved.
