Are the mods afraid of the truth?
Oct 31st, 2012 at 8:56pm

I started a thread earlier asking for an explanation for being banned .. It is the second time in two weeks and I've no idea why. I think it is only fair that a reason be given so that I may modify my behaviour. Rather than give me a reason, the mods have locked the thread so nobody can post on it. Are they afraid of criticism? Surely it would be a simple to just tell me why I was banned?

I have read peoples claims that it has nothing to do with political persuasion, but I find that hard to believe given the decision to lock the thread rather than give a reason ..... with power comes responsibility ... why don't the mods act responsibly instead of trying to restrict free speech

But are you a person who believes in, and who respects, reason and reasonableness ???

Or is 'reason' only 'entertained' by you [when debating with others], within, and only on, your own terms ?

FD says it best here

John, you really do need to realise what the rules state. There has been many times you have made direct profane insults to other people, me being one of them.

With that said, it looks like the advise from FD to go over your recent posts, is the explanation you require. Just not an explanation directly to the offensive post.

I dont think you need any further correspondence from FD if you would look at the rules and your recent posts.

Coming here requesting this information is also in violation of the rules if I am not mistaken, going by the link provided.

I haven't had any correspondence from FD, and to be fair, I'm not even sure it was he who banned me ...

telling me to go back over my posts is a cop out ... and trying to make it a rule that one can't even ask why? bugger me, where are we? Nazi Germany? Do I have to hail Hitler when I log on too?

I don't think its unreasonable for him to give reasons for banning people.

As for my posts to you, you and many others on here insult others too, if he banned people for that just about everyone would be banned ... I've even seen him refer to spot as stupid .. why is that not an insult?

It would be the difference between saying 'you are stupid' compared to 'you are the biggest f n stupid idiot' ect.

The profanity, the directness of it counts.

not according to his rules ....

It is not in his rules to follow every thread, every post either. Most people are not too worried about being called stupid, but I guess if you notified a mod that you think it is against the rules and that you are offended, then I guess something might happen. Thats assuming it is against the rules.

On the other hand, if there is profanity and directness, then people are more likely to report it. So it is more against the rules of the people and gets them reporting.

I am surprised you dont know. I have been around long enough to know the profanity and directness of some of your posts. Like I said, I cop it from you. Have I reported you for it. Dam straight.

Did I get you banned. No you did.

John, stick to your guns mate. I've been banned 3 times since I've been here (not long only seems like yesterday) but I believe that my bannings were simply because I pissed off these fascist right wing prick underlings. they can hurl it, but give a little back and they run to the 'button'. FD is to busy most of the time either killing poor innocent fish or dreaming about it.
I wouldn't expect too much sense from these mentally challenged clowns.
I plan to post often over the coming days, so if I am absent it will be my 4th ban. on the bright side it sure gives me street cred.
