I think it is well known that he got the statement wrong, it wasn't quite what he was meant to say however I would prefer for a PM to fail trying to deliver something like that than to just leave it off the agenda.

Is there any difference between a lie, a broken promise and failing to deliver if it does not work?

prevented water pipes & other sanitation products
from reaching Iraq which was responsible for over
100,000 people dying from cholera & other water borne diseases.
The true WMD was sanctions.

The pollys have a lot of blood on their hands of innocent people
- mostly little kids.
They did it in our name - shame on them.

BTW - they are doing it to Iran now.

Her now infamous "the real Julia" comes to mind as an example of sticking to the script.

This current government also lacks the courage to admit it's mistakes. Offering instead to blame the Opposition for the problem because the Opposition is trying to point out the mistake to the electorate.
