You don't see it as the world's problem?

The country which pollutes more than the rest of the world and is killing the planet.

I thought we all lived on it.

Why don't you piss off to a Yankee forum and whine about California then jungle monkey.

Whats the total of govt subsidies for energy from coal including exploration, mining and then to the power station?

Buggered if I know. Just pointing out that all this la la green energy is costly.

Any money SHANE B can't define the term 'costly'!

End of,... I win... thanx for playing!

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  Wink Wink

Wind requires a price of more than $110 per megawatt hour to be economically viable and small-scale systems at least twice that. Coal-generated electricity costs $35-$40 per megawatt hour.

How's that for costly???

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

FIRSTLY, I THINK SHANE B IS TRYING TO TELL ME THAT THE IDEA OF COAL-GENERATED ELECTRICITY HASN'T BECOME MORE EFFICIENTLY IMPLEMENTED SINCE IT WAS CONCEPTUALISED!

SECONDLY, I THINK SHANE B IS ALSO TRYING TO CON ME THAT ECONOMIES OF SCALE ISN'T A PHENOMENON LEARNT BY MOST AUSTRALIANS BY THE AGE OF 15!!

THIRDLY, I SUSPECT SHANE B COUNTS ON THE FACT THAT I DON'T RECOGNISE THE SUBJECT OF 'EXTERNALITIES' TO BE
THE
FLAW THAT MAKES ECONOMICS THE LAUGHING STOCK IT IS!!!

I really don't get this climate change/global warming stuff. nature produces about 97% of the carbon dioxide that exists in the atmosphere and it actually helps plants to grow. Humans create about 3% carbon dioxide, of which Australia produces .001% of the global man-made carbon dioxide output. How can we, as humans, be wrecking the Earth when our contribution to global CO2 is a meagre three percent? Also, global temperatures have actually been falling for nearly 17 years now - not rising. It's a joke!

I'd like to see him cut and paste some story condemning Abbott's plan, but typical liberal that he is, there is no chance of that happening, the hypocrite.

Wow, you should have just stopped at the first sentence the rest of your rant just cemented your position as a fool with no idea. They are making Gloria Jones attend a course in preventative lying and stupidity you need to go with him.

Just like the carbon tax must have worked, because the earth hasnt warmed for 16 years.

lol go back to sleep, much better in that world.

earth hasnt warmed for 16 years.?!?!

Where did you get that nonsense idea from?

You can come up with as much BS as you like. The earth has not warmed for 16 years.

there you go ... progs has admitted that no matter what the proof, s/hes to stupid to consider it because s/he's already made up her/his mind.

The earth has not warmed for 16 years. That is not making up my mind, that is the earth not warming for 16 years.

Is that a "fact" from the Alan Jones school of fact checking?

I suggest you pull your head out of your arse and stop believing lies.

The earth has been warming for the past 16 years.
That is beyond doubt.

Only a moron would deny it.

You probably should stop trying to comment on it.

First - you need to stop repeating nonsense like " global temperatures have actually been falling for nearly 17 years now".

They haven't.

Second - try to imagine that you earn $97 dollars a week.  And your rent and food and all other expenses add up to $97 a week.  What happens when you get a dog that costs you $3 week in dogfood?

Meanwhile China has stated it will not see a reduction in carbon emissions until 2030 and continues to pollute at a greater increase than Australia's entire yearly output....

Got anymore of that Carbon-Tax Kool-Aid? It tastes awesome....
We're fixing the world everyone!!

Australia's emissions per capita are 4 times that of the Chinese.

Please stop trying to push these rubbish comparisons.

Have you been to China or seen how they live??
50% of Chinese are self sufficiant farmers using cattle as plows and push bikes to travel, they don't have electricioty or running water, are you saying that we should live like that?

Yes.  And Andrei thinks these people need to be reducing their emissions so that nasty, greedy ignorant bastard like him don't have to do anything.

BTW nobody has suggested you should live like that.  Please don't tell lies.

Another thing for you to look up is, water vapour accounts for around 95% of all greenhouse gases.

The 95% water vapour is obviously not constant so varies a bit. Water vapour outstrips co2's greenhouse effect, leaving co2 to be just noise amongst the effect of water vapour.

So not only does the environment produce 97% of co2, the 100% of co2 is just background noise to the 95% greenhouse effect of water vapour.

So how is the effect of 3% co2 from humans sounding.
