We'd be better off giving our farmers and others in the industry here the $500m, the extra $400m to build Islamic schools in Indonesia 'to stop terrorists' we shovel up there, and the extra billions in special aid, as Indonesia spends it on buying subs and warships etc.

14 yr old girl in Pakistan shot in the head and body because she was campaigning for an education.

Doctor who helped the US, by DNA testing, to establish that bin Laden was indeed bin Laden living in Pakistan [near the military base and no one saw a thing lol]...is being tortured in prison in Pakistan.

Pakistan is a disgrace, and we should boycotting Islamic Pakistan every way we can, including cricket.

I agree lamb is a shocking price I cant afford it..b ut we wont get it anymore than we did during the boycott of Indonesia..... they will slaughter and bury the animals..because no one wants to feed them and they wont sell them for bugger all..to Coles or Woollies..we live in a strange world.. millions starving and we bury our fruit and vegies and even our meat when we cant get a good price for it..

Well yeah i agree but the thing is that the story was dealt with with the cows and now the media has moved on to greener pastures (so to speak). Its going to take a lot of noise to make them pay attention again (media and government).

I like pigs too but I am not vegetarian .

btw I dont like what we do to battery hens either? I splash out on free range eggs but have been told its not all we have been lead to b elieve it is???

Its not difficult to get organic free range ethically killed meat these days so there's no excuse for anyone to support cruelty to animals.

When the beef trade with Indo was suspended for the very reason of cruelty AP and the rest of you guys were up in arms.
She was ruining our export trade, yet now it seems as if you guys want it stopped.
Do you value sheep more than cows??
It seems so.

The live export trade is the equivalent of the slave trade in modern day, they can mouth platitudes of improved practice all they want the fact remains these animals are destined for a cruel extended painful death.
Ban it, to hell with the few 100 or so that profit from it.

If animals must be killed in a certain way for religious reasons, why not employ people of the same faith here in Australia to kill the animals humanely and in accordance with their religious beliefs and then send the bodies abroad in refridgerated containers aboard ships? Everyone wins then. If we can transport LPG by tanker over the ocean, it shouldn't be too hard to transport refridgerated livestock I'd think?
