IMO you should back your moderators publicly all the way. It's a thankless task and who'd want to do it, only to be held up for ridicule by the forum owner? Show strong dissent in private by all means. It would've been easy enough for somebody to open a new thread on the topic.

I hope Perceptions Now reconsiders, he's been a very good moderator.

he's been a terrible moderator. utterly ineffective. So ineffective that he hasnt been a moderator for 6 weeks and who noticed any difference? Its not like he did anything moderator-like!

When running the chatrooms in the old days we had to have rules for the admins that we do not undo what another admin does. Otherwise its just stupid. We had an admin like longy once - he kicked everyone that disagreed with him and there was nobody left to talk to. Also stupid. Need a balance.
