Go placidly amidst the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its shams, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Gee.....you are so zen.

Corporate Desiderata

G0 placidly, amid the politics and decision-making and remember what peace there may be, in the silence of your own office.

As far as possible, do not believe in miracles, but learn to rely on them. Speak convincingly when in doubt; and when in trouble, delegate. Listen to others, for even the dull and ignorant have insider information.

Avoid ambitious and efficient persons, they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you can not convince others, endeavour to confuse them, for always there will be persons less sure of themselves than you. Enjoy your company car, as well as your expense account.

Keep interested, in your own career and take notes of other persons mistakes, however humble, for they can be real possessions in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your affairs, for the corporation is full of trickery. But let this not blind you, to what virtue there is in giving verbal orders and never write anything down, that might be held against you.

Be yourself. Neither, be cynical about corporate profits; for in the face of all trends and economic indicators, they are as perennial as the grass, unless they are killed off by a reversal of major Demographic & Energy Trends or by the Changing Climate!

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering your naivety. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you from department cutbacks. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of overwork and exclusion from important meetings. Beyond a wholesome salary, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the corporation, no less than the shareholders and the directors; you have a right to be here. And, whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the new corporate structure is unfolding as it should.

Therefore, be at peace with your superiors, whatever you conceive them to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of corporate life, keep at peace with your co-workers.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, the corporation still provides a regular cheque. Be seen with the right executives. Strive to look important, for one ounce of image is worth a pound of performance.

PS - Not quite the original, but a few subtle personal changes, may have given it a little more reality?

*Sure....they're anti competitive as any subsidised job is.  It wouldn't be there without the tax payer.  Very damned difficult for a brainwashed collectivist to understand that I know....  (swaggy) *
