my son and family had an elec bill for $800 they have wood heating wood he goes out and collects and chops himself.. so lighting and water...everyone out all day..go figure.

I have been told that sometime they guess what the bill will be?

you would think in this day and age we had something we could read ourselves...and work out how much we are heading for??.

after all we know when we need petrol for the car.

for me even reading the bloody bill is almost impossible.

$800..it should be a quarter of that at the most

i do. there is a graph on the bill showing previous quarter and same quarter the previous year. i may be only seven but i can read a bill.

and on that graph is the usage the same or is it different? the graph on my bill shows usage, not $$$$ , my bill was up $50 on last quarter, but I'm thinking thats good since with a new born in the house I had the air con. going a little to warm up the place over winter , which i never used the quarter before ...

I'm still waiting to see the effects of the carbon tax ..... sounds like the liberal version of the Y2K bug?

Its not meant to affect ordinary ppls energy use. It is meant to stop the big guys from making too much pollution. Of course this is not going to work because everyone was compensated and they passed on the costs. Whole thing cancelled out.

but it does make a difference .. energy suppliers have already announced record investments in renewable energies, numbers they wouldn't have considered before the carbon tax was announced .... and that number would be even higher if they didn't think Abbott would repeal the carbon tax once he won office ...
