He's not linking homosexuality and bestiality, he's using the 'slippery slope' argument. That once you decriminalize something, it then opens the gates for things of that nature to be decriminalized.

All these arguments were used when society decided:

Catholics could marry other Christian religions

Christian religions could marry other religions

Blacks could marry whites.

Now I don't know about your part of the world but in mine the Institution of Marriage is still going strong despite all of the above assaults against it.

This is why I departed the Left. I could no longer tolerate their hypocrisy. They sprout 'tolerance' and other egalitarian slogans but that's the farthest from their minds. They have an agenda and they want to push it through, and any resistance is to be silenced. At least the Right are more open in their beliefs. Which is why I respect them a great deal more.

There is a middle ground on gay marriage.

The problem we have is there people out there on one fringe (Mr Bernardi) and those on the other (Mr Brown of the Greens).

There is a centre ground - which is where I reside.

Allow gay people to have the same legal rights as those of a de-facto man/woman couple and inheritance etc but keep the institution of marriage for a man and a woman.

There be a registered relationship if they like - a civil union but not a marriage.

How about people on both sides be a little more common-sense and middle ground seeking?
