Oh yeah, old Matty.

I have been on here very periodically for some time now because of work - hence only weekends I get that much time.

Matty was a 21 year old guy who lived at home if I recall rightly.
I assume from Karnal's message he has been banned or gone elsewhere etc.

Used to start every topic with a very random question of "Why am I not moderate?" or words to that effect?

Was he left or right/ Liberal or Labor?

bugger knows.
My care factor on all that nonsense is not very high.
I remember very little about it, only the endless absurd questions on threads from him.

I rarely come on here these days.

I opened my account in July and don't post that often. I even started a thread but it got removed. I guess it'll just remain a mystery.

I guess it will. Matty used to talk about himself quite a lot too. Who knows? Maybe you've met.

No definitely not. I wouldn't be asking if I knew he was.

Yes, that's true. You've asked before too, haven't you?

Yeah because when I first came on here some people thought I was him. It's pretty weird to be accused of being someone who you don't even know. At least people have come to see that I am not.

Alfred Deacon removed democracy long before Gillard, but she's had her part to play too.

If your present system was designed to keeping people hood-winked - then its not the greatest idea in the world to have compulsory voting is it?

In the United States only 1 in 3 vote and when you look at a lot of the 2 in 3 who don't you feel pretty happy they don't.

It's not about voting, it's about who pays the piper. Politicians listen much more closely to their donors and certain, er, media magnates than they'd ever listen to their electorate.

You make a good argument for free education, Andre.

There's no accountability and that is the problem. Once they're in they can do whatever they want and we only get the chance to get rid of them after 3 years.

All systems are designed to hoodwinked those who decide not to test its claims

Certainly question time should be improved - but neither the major party would want greater scrutiny while in government

Not exactly. They can SAY what they want and they can spread a few billion around where they want - within limits.

The rest of the job's done by the public service and private contractors.

There's no accountability - you got that one right. Any information we get is disseminated by those who can shout the loudest.

My point is that election promises don't mean anything. At least they don't have to. If this were done in any other job it would be fraud but Gillard gets to get away with it.

One recent US election was won 5 votes to 3 in the high court.

That is about ONE IN 40 MILLION.

Hey But you should see the other 39,999,999 you would be glad they didn't get a vote.

Gillard gets away with it, and Abbott gets away with it too. There's only a choice between the lessor of two evils. I know who I'm backing.

You are never going to get absolute good - so neither party can claim the higher ground on that point

However I believe those who exercise a protest vote by giving it to the Greens then that is an act of vandalism

The Greens is a lobby group - they are not a legitimate alternative anything let alone government
