I doubt it, I suspect it's more a thing about Abbott selling his arse freely to anyone and everyone. Just ask Tony. I'm sure he'll give you conga line people a good rate!

It's basically a "gang of three" inspired by American fudamentlist pentacostals

Quote:
Three men from different denominational affiliations and backgrounds founded the Australian Christian Coalition (ACC) in 1995.

At the time of the founding, two of them resided in Canberra and one in Brisbane.

The lobby group was the brainchild of John Gagliardi, a lay leader of a large Pentecostal church in Brisbane, who stated that the vision was to create an organisation that would have influence in the political arena, on behalf of all Christians, no matter what denomination.

Promotional material stated that the purpose of the groups was to make a stand against ‘humanistic legislation’ and ‘minority groups’.

Gagliardi’s background was in journalism, and he held positions as Editor of the Townsville Bulletin and as anchorman for the Channel 10 news. Gagliardi had a double Masters in business and politics, he owned and operated a business in Brisbane.

John McNicoll was a retired Baptist Minister turned lobbyist in Canberra before becoming involved in the Australian Christian Coalition.

John Miller, who worked with a number of community and government organisations in Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory, held leadership positions within his independent, community-based church.

Although the ACC board was cross denominational, according to research carried out by the Christian Research Association, the Coalition was largely supported by Pentecostals.

"Westboro Baptists" in a collar and tie (and a full set of teeth) - if you like

...

Mainstream, moderate Christian (and Catholic) churches in Australia have largely disassociated themselves from the lobby group

MOST bewidering, is the amount of "puff" the media give them as the "voice" of Australian Christianity

You, and the other 10 million people who use this line of "reasoning" have it arse about face.

The concepts of "tolerance" and all poo has been corrupted by the new age religion of egalitotalitarianism.  While most have already sold out, only the real christians - the "good" christians - dare to stand up for their true beliefs.  A good christian (or anyone with any real beliefs or pricniples that didn't come straight out of a press release) doesn't let their deeply held beliefs get steamrolled without a word of protest.

It can't be easy staying true when you belong to THE most persecuted group in western societies, bar none, so I take my hat off to Mr Wallace for having the fortitude to stay true to his path.  He displays the sort of courage leftwads could only read about in books.

Has the meaning of tolerance changed?
What about forgiveness?
Love thy neighbor, turn the other cheek, the meek shall inherit the earth, let he who is without sin cast the 1st stone.

(6) Aborigines

You should be able to have a say without being demonised.

What is demonising?

It is about labelling a person as inherently evil for expressing any views

you mean like you do of anyone associated with the ALP?

Oh yeah. Anyone supporting the ALP is a pedophile. Just ask longidiot.  Angry

I have never seen where macca has labeled anyone..for being a lefty..... an idiot maybe???

however may I suggest you read skippy and read his language when referring to anyone that dares disagree with his views...the conga line of bitches is usually picked up by others...

its all a form of bullying you know? kids still do it in the playground... and now on facebook.;..

cowardly but it does work...

The meaning of tolerance has been amplified by a factor of 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,637.  Tolerance means accpeting the existence of something - it doesn't mean you have to like it.

Step back for a second - he's not advocating killing every homo, or anything that is in the slightest way "extreme".  As far as I can tell he accepts that homos exist (tolerance) he just doesn't belive they have any right to the institution of marriage.  And he's right.  If I say 16 year olds have no right to drink alcohol, does it follow that I "hate" 16 year olds?

He just opposes a phony, fabricated wedge issue that spits in the face of his beliefs - why should anyone be expected to 'tolerate" that?  THIS is why I say Tolerance is a synonym for cowardice - Only the cowardly would stand idly by while their most deeply held beliefs are pood upon.

How are poofs pooing on Christianity?
From what I see its the so called Christians demonizing poofs & everything else that doesn't fit in the narrow little box.

Where in the new testament does it say go forth & ridicule/demonize/ostracize all who don't agree?
Or a we back at the OLD Testament & wouldn't that make him a Jew or Muslim rather than Christian?

You're forthing at the mouth again.  Calm down and think about whether preserving the fundamentals of marriage can really be construed as "ridicule/demonizing/ostracism."

An objective view would show that Wallace and those like him are the ones being ridiculed, ostracized and demonized.  And for what?  The "vibe" of it?  Guess what mate - that vibe is wholly manufactured to get you *ahem* "tolerant" people foaming at the mouth.  Mission accomplished.

Where did marriage come into it?
He was talking about being a poof is more deadly than smoking.
And seeing you wish to bring marriage into it, it's not a christian belief it a pagan one stolen by Christianity like most of their other supposed holy days & rituals.

If the ACL thinks the
"gay lifestyle"
( ... whatever the bugger THAT means) is SO
"dangerous"
... why do they lobby governments to make it MORE
"dangerous"
?

Rip & Roll - Queenslanders Stand Up to Australian Christian Lobby

Media Release
1st June 2011

Healthy Communities Welcomes the Return of ‘Rip & Roll’ and Thanks Our Supporters

Healthy Communities welcomes the decision of Adshel to reinstate the ‘Rip & Roll’ campaign to bus shelters across Brisbane with immediate effect.

In a statement released today, Adshel CEO Steve McCarthy stated “It has now become clear that Adshel has been the target of a coordinated ACL campaign. This has led us to review our decision to remove the campaign and we will therefore reinstate the campaign with immediate effect.”“

We thank Adshel for coming to the correct decision and look forward to working with them in this and future sexual health campaigns” said Paul Martin, Healthy Communities Executive Director.

“We’d also like to thank the tens of thousands of supporters who lent their voice, mainly via Facebook and Twitter, to getting the adverts reinstated.

Special appreciation must also go to Michael and his partner who appear in the advert and have been such great advocates for the gay community.”

“The response to the removal of the campaign shows that the overwhelming majority of Queenslanders support the need for sexual health promotion, support the gay community and reject stigma and discrimination.”

Complaints about the ‘Rip & Roll’ campaign are still to be assessed by the Advertising Standards Bureau in the coming week.
