agree, yet the american position is exactly that (and i presume most of the west think that way),
this is going to create a lot of tension and indeed probably military build up in china and india. undoubtedly the industrial military complex (of which israel is an integral part) will benefit.
i do hope australia is smart enough to keep a low profile but with our "delusions of grandeur' types like rudd and carr running around trying to lecture the world on libya, syria, Cheesy

i fear their egos will draw them in.

personally, i'd be quite happy to build fighter planes for the chinese. good high tech growth market. the yanks didnt have any trouble selling their weapons to saddam.

I will point out some obvious things-

1. The earth is harmed by emissions. China is the worlds worst polluter, they are also building coal power stations at a rate of 3 every week. From the 3 worlds worst polluters who make half of the whole world - only the USA is actively aiming to lower their output. Both China and India are not even trying.

2. A per capita argument classes Falkland Islands as a worse problem than China who pollute one third of the total. Falklands pollute 0.000001% of total.

3. A comment of something being "racist" is the last throw of a dice when no argument is there.

4. I hate to point out but you are from a developed world country and ignoring my USA citizenship, I am born and live in the developing world. It is a bit absurd for you to accuse me of being against the developing world. I look at the problem and want to fix. The problem is the worlds worst polluter is not even trying to reduce when everyone else is.

4. I come from a country which has invested more in new energy than most anyone. I know what is needed.

5. As for racist, I am middle eastern with heritage from east Europe and a people who were persecuted. I think I am not a racist.

Any science and/or body of study by academic is a structured approach to observing an predicting behaviours

Social science is not like a 1+1 where you can accurately predict an outcome of 2 and no other results

Social science tries to accurately predict behaviours of 6 billion individuals by studying a sample space of 2000

Therefore on a predictability scale it's not as reliable as a 1+1

These engineers - be they electrical or social - tries to use these predicted outcomes on everyday events.

We can put man on the moon with more accuracy than we can predict the behaviours of humans.

We can split sub-atomic particles with more accuracy than we can strike at the social problem of world hunger, asylum seekers, wars, inequality etc.

My point?

Use the social sciences as a guide at best!

I am not representing a religious point of view even if my views are in agreement with some religious points of view...heck your views are in agreement with some religious points of view. Religious pints of view on this subject are as diverse as the rest of society. This is a firm demonstrable fact that increased violence and lack of restraint directly correlates with breakdown of traditional family units & parental failure to raise children in a properly structured positive environment where they learn the rewards of good behavior and the consequences of bad behavior...The social engineers obviously want to live in a world with no consequences for their actions...so did Adolf Hitler...

I am also not anti Government -I am pro constitutional democratic Government and the rule of law. I am anti faceless unelected central planning committees - especially foreign ones dictating the policy of our parliament. The sales of the strategic agricultural asset Cubbie Station to the Chinese Government for instance was ordered by the world bank and the trilateral commission and that is illegal and unacceptable...I challenge the Government to deny publicly they are not acting on foreign orders...and why are they trying to silence dissenters like Barnaby Joice?

being as it does have the biggest water allocation on the beloved murray darling, i was a bit surprised by the sale. should be interesting if the government decide to cut back the water allocation to the chinese . they may be slightly harder to negotiate with than the local farmers.

now heres some data for you that may interest you, natural gas from qld is sold to the chinese at a cost that is approxiamtely 8 % of the rate it is sold to australian consumers.
