Throwing themselves at police officers. Grose! I hope they copped a hiding after the video was turned off.

Inside the Russian Orthodox Church.

I wouldn't advocate changing the law just because five girls were intent on breaking it. These girls have been widely condemned within Russia, and rightly so.

The Orthodox religion means so much to those people now they have democracy. They couldn't practice in the open in the old USSR and now they have the freedom to practice openly, they hold it sacred.

Why is this relevant?

The Orthodox religion and the law they broke is inseparable. Some countries have laws protecting religion, obviously Russia is one of them.

Why is the Muslim faith so important to Saudi's? It just is, it's how they are.

Why are some Jewish people in Europe still afraid to admit their Jewishness?

You need to understand how very important the Orthodox religion is to Russians, otherwise you won't understand the significance of the crime.

Close your Australian eyes for a minute freediver and think Russia.

Do you think they should have been given immunity?

If so, why?

I have not seen anything yet to warrant a two year jail term. All I have seen is character assassination from the president, who claimed to have no interest and know nothing about the case, but who still felt the need to sink the boot in and get some political mileage out of it.

If it suddenly became really important to scientologists that people not make fun of them, would you support jail time for people who make fun of them? Does denial of basic human rights somehow make sense because a group of people feel strongly that those rights should be denied?

I agree, two years was a bit rough, but hey! tell the judge. I believe the sentence was for what they did in the church, not so much what they said.

Anyway, I should think they will be out in six months at least, and that would be a fair sentence, so all's ok in the end.

In all fairness to Putin, he was questioned about them and he gave his honest opinion. I don't think they are worth the news coverage either.

You can't compare Scientology in America to Orthodox in Russia. You'd be better off comparing Islam in the ME and its devout followers.

I wonder if the western world would feel the same if they were three ugly Russian men?

I still haven't figured out what they did. No-one seems to be talking about that. I haven't watched all those videos yet. Is it in one of them?

The nuns who were in the church that day gave evidence in court. They swore on their holy book to tell the truth. I believe their account of events and the pussie's didn't deny it because they thought they should be allowed to do it.

Hooliganism and balsphemy are both against the law in Russia. Luckily for them they got away with the lesser charge of blasphemy. The crime of hooliganism carries a much harder penalty.

Watch the video freediver.

We don't come from a religious society so it's hard to understand that a country would have laws that protect religion, but you have to understand the history under the old communist regime to put it in perspective.

The pussies purposely set out to break the laws to show their hatred of religious laws. They stamped on religious icons and mooned the statue of Jesus.

For example just imagine my street has a 60km an hour speed limit.

Ok, I think it should be 80km, so I always drive down my street at 80km.

I end up before the courts. The judge hates people who purposely breaks the law of the land and she gives me the maximum sentence.

Bad luck for me, I had it coming.

You appear to be arguing that because it is the law it is somehow OK. Why do you keep pointing out that they broke the law instead of saying what they actually did wrong? Are you incapable of distinguishing between the law and human rights?

I understand perfectly well that some people want to punish others for saying the wrong thing. The fact that they feel strongly about it is irrelevant. Freedom of speech is a fundamental human right.

Have you ever seen a child run over by words? You don't seem to be even remotely aware of the issues involved here. You seem to think that it is merely a matter of explaining that they have different laws because they feel more strongly about certain issues, as if being upset about someone's opinion is no different to someone feeling strongly about their child getting run over.

Yeah! it's not ok to break the law, as the riotous ones found out.

Spending time in prison is not against any human rights conditions that I've heard of. I'm sure they're getting fed, watered and exercised.

Name a country that doesn't have prisons.

Have you watched the videos yet? Seems like plenty of freedom going on there.

They damaged sh1t, they are not sorry, they pay the price.

Perhaps you should explain what you think human rights are then.

Explain where their human rights are being denied?

Russia is not America or Australia. The whole world does not have the same level of freedom of speech as we do. So does that make their laws wrong?

In Thailand if you degrade the name of the Royal family, you go straight to jail. That's their law. We can call our prime minister all the ugly names we can think of and get away with it.

Jailing someone for blasphemy denies everyone freedom of speech.

You seem to have a 'different' take on human rights. Or perhaps you are completely unfamiliar with the concept. Can you explain your views?

Yes it does pansi.
