Govt's evil data-retention scheme....
Aug 23rd, 2012 at 6:44pm

Has been passed by the Senate.

Valid concerns were ignored.

Another nail in the coffin of our rights and freedoms.

And the filth from the right supported it.

Scott Ludlam seemed to be the only dissenter.

Shame he's not in MY electorate.......

WHEN will Australians wake up and realise that they
are being reamed by proxy by the govt on behalf of
foreign govts and multi-national parasites?

We are following the USA with the loss of freedoms.

You have to ask yourself why are so many people so uninterested in doing anything about it.

It won't be easy to get our rights back once they're gone.

I'm not totally up with this one.

What rights did we lose today?

This is the 'lite' version. I hate to think what the heavy version will be.
...................................

Ludlam said the sharing of data between overseas agencies was troubling due to an increase in the number of requests within Australia for subscriber data by law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

“There were a quarter of a million requests to telcos for people’s data and metadata [between 2010 and 2011],” he said.

is this the one where telcos have to keep your browser history /mobile phone history etc for so many years.

i presume the arguement is when they go and arrest an ivan milat, they can go back and say  "telstras towers place your phone in the balangalow state forrest on the night of such and such 7 years ago"

big brother is watching you Wink

Gawd and like i said it doesnt matter what "party" is in they all will/would do it.

No protests in australia. Seriously other countries would have taken to the streets. Here if you take to the streets you are considered "rent-a-crowd".

While I'm not saying we Australian have any rights or freedoms, we only have ourselves to blame for loosing what few privileges we did have.

The government is always smart enough to trot out a nasty boogie man to justify implementing our current raft of draconian law and as compliant little sheeple we accept what we are told.

The laws initially only affect 'others' so we don't complain too hard when 'others' are being buggered over.

Gun laws - gun ownership is a privilege and gun owners are evil little-dick losers and deserve to have their guns taken away.

Consorting laws - Bikies are evil bastards and deserve to have laws that prevent them from associating with each other

Retention laws - paedophiles are evil scum and deserve to have their criminal activity recorded so they can be prosecuted.

Sooner or later one of these laws are going to affect you and then it will be too late if it isn't already.

Nice to know your privilege of privacy has been destroyed, isn't it?  Angry

Actually, some of us have been fighting this, and similar restrictive legislation, for a number of years.
We won't stop now.
