NT Labor gives Gillard the flick
Aug 8th, 2012 at 8:45am

While the Country Liberals were happy to have Tony Abbott launch their election campaign in Darwin testerday, 'Team Henderson' (no mention of Labor in any of their campaign material) don't want Gillard visiting the NT.

Betting markets have the Country Liberals as short priced favourites to win government on August 25.

Julia Gillard - twice selected, never elected.

We're still paying for the Whitlam Government.

SARAH EVERINGHAM: Territory Labor is not looking to its federal counterparts to help it win a fourth term, as leader Paul Henderson explained last month.

PAUL HENDERSON: No I won't be inviting the Prime Minister or any other federal politicians to the Territory for this campaign for one reason and one reason only, is this campaign will be fought on Territory issues in the best interests of the Territory.

SARAH EVERINGHAM: While Paul Henderson says Territory elections are always decided on local issues Tony Abbott's using federal issues to bolster the local party.

TONY ABBOTT: Yes we all know about the toxic carbon tax but what about the marine protected areas dumped on the people of Darwin that threaten to do to the fishing industry what the live cattle ban has done to the cattle trade in this Territory?

SARAH EVERINGHAM: But earlier this week Paul Henderson said Tony Abbott's presence in Darwin is a sign the local party, led by Terry Mills, is in trouble.

PAUL HENDERSON:
I'm astounded that Terry Mills is going to try and cling to Tony Abbott's petticoat when he comes to town to give Terry Mills some sort of profile on leadership. I think that it's a sign of weakness.

Yup Paul - That is exactly what Terry will do

How do you know they'll lose? Is there even a poll? Why are conservatives such sadists?

well greendarkness, if you were able to read you would know that polling in NT predicts a labor loss. Now I know you are a great disbeliever in polls you dont like and in any form of logic so I am sure you dont accept it. After all, what can you say about a poster who thinks Abbott is going to lose the next election?

Of course Abbott will lose the next election. Labor has just started the transition in the polls. People are waking up to his lies, deceit and negativity.  And the election isn still almost 18 months away.

A) it is only one year away and
B) labor has done this 6 times in the past - rise a few percent and then sink ignominiously back under 30%

I love your prediction of an Abbott loss at the next election. it is one of the strong reasons we know he will win because being A green political pundit we know that your accuracy level is close to 0% - a bit like where your own party's polls are headed.

Well, the alp may never win another election again in Auss.
We have come from a period where the libs federally led aust for many terms and delivered excellently well.
In that time the alp ran many states into the ground.

now the alp have the federal control and we are in record debt in record time.

union membershios are plummetting. there is no breeding ground of next gen alp voters.

Don't know about other states but NSW did pretty well until the end when the idiots became so completely absorbed with building useless public transport, selling off power stations and the leadership question. Who knows, maybe if we could have actually got some of our money back from the Feds who were busily stuffing it into a mattress by the fistful we could have actually done more?

RECORD debt?? What currency are we talking about? You righties need to come out of the 1950s you know. I realise a million pounds was a heck of a lot of money back then but it's not so much money these days y'know.

Debt is $300B. Previously record was $96B. By any measure it is record. Even taking inflation into account it is double the previous keating record.

So do I assume that not only English Comprehension fails you but primary school maths as well?

longliar... well in YOUR case the first thing I'd best do is ask you to show me proof. $300B you say? And private or public?

Hate to think you'd plucked those numbers from your nether region but well.. you DO have a history don't you?

Try the public records from treasury. The previous debt ceiling of $250B had to be raised in the last session of parliament because the current budget estimates that debt will approximate $300B this financial year.

So look it up or remain as ignorant as the aver labor supporter who seems to think that soemhow Howard had more debt than keating or that Costello had more debt than Rudd.

So you're talking about an absolute number. No adjustment there for inflation or anything else. As I asked in my question to Sean.

It really cracks me up that you accuse me constantly for lacking comprehension while all the while being completely incapable of understanding anything anyone says.

It's more than a year, and Abbott is just another Hewson. Watch him lose the new 'unloseable' election, and another 3 years for Gillard.
