Sorry Smithy, your news is a bit old. This is more up-to-date:

JOURNALIST:
The government is about to announce, apparently, the Parliamentary Budget Office. Can you give us a sense of what use you would make of that and what limitations you would put on it?

JOE HOCKEY:
We will make use of it. We actually had a large number of proposed amendments to the Parliamentary Budget Office legislation. I thought they were amendments that were very worthwhile and maybe one day Labor will be in opposition and they will really regret they didn't support those amendments, I would suspect. But we will work with the Parliamentary Budget Office through the framework that I've outlined. We will send policies where it is appropriate to the Parliamentary Budget Office and ask them to provide advice on it. We're very keen to find out who the key personnel are and if they are independent and honourable people then we will use that Parliamentary Budget Office as a very positive initiative.

so they will only send some policies if they feel it's appropriate (ie, not making up the numbers) and only if THEY feel the people are independant and honourable .... which will just end up like it is now, the libs will end up claiming that you cannot trust them , their figures are wrong, they are lieing blah blah blah ....

I can't believe he tried to introduce a bill to keep the costing private ..... bugger me, and you guys complain about Gillard .....

The Greens have never sent any of their policies to Treasury for costing. Why the double standard, John?

Labor might win because people will think twice before
putting Abbott into power.

Given her behaviour, thoughts and policies, it might turn out to be quite accurate...

I don't/can't believe anyone still really supports Abbott.!! Its all just a big joke isn't it. ?  And a chance to have a go at the PM.  I also saw 7.30   .....and that is the person I WANT AS PM.

For all you mexicans (ie sth of QLD border)  watch what is happening here.
Newman's cando Libs are facing thousands protesting int the streets, because of their 'austerity measures.'  Newman says so much crap... Qld'd be bankrupt.... except WE will save you.!!!  Only  ...You'll have to pay.!!     Bollocks,  and I'm wondering when t he Police will be mobilised to quell public opinion.  Probably not too soon.!  After all the MORON voters of QLD gave the fhead an OBSCENE majority.

You want to do that too????  Talk about SHEEP... the bleating Abbott and cronies make lots of noise.... nonsensical noise in the main,  but the SHEEP  follow because the noise is so ?????.

Stuffed if I know,,, except ...you are morons if you think anyone other than The Prime Minister . The Honorable Julia Gillard... has a hope of leading Australians into a better future.

You're whetting your knives, sharpening your swords .... for a treacherous and traitorous rat.

Shakespeare has presented us with this same principle, generations ago..   still we machinate to our own DETRIMENT.!!!

Fools truly - thats what you are.

I couldn't have said it any better. She was great on 7.30 wasn't she? Passionate, caring and empathic. THAT is the real Julia, not the way that the media makes her out to be. I still have faith that the electorate will wake up to Abbott, and realise how good Julia has been for the country, and will be into the future. She's still in with a chance.

BTW - the 7.30 report IS media. Nobody watches it, but it is still media.

I'd like to think the same  TGL,  Smiley.

That Australians, when it comes to the crunch, will make the right decision.

Hopefully they'll have had their fun  Huh  and realise what is the BEST OPTION.

I continue to be appalled at the partisan behaviour of the media. It has muted a little, since its BECOME CLEAR that the Slipper affair,  AND the Thomson affair, are looking more and more like what they are....corrupt and traitorous actions to  bring down this government.

Abbott is complicit and culpable,  and so are way too many other LNP heavyweights.

IT SHOWS SO CLEARLY THE CONTEMPT THE LNP HAVE FOR THE PEOPLE OF AUSTRALIA.

They really think we are stupid.!!
And SADLY ...the morons in QLD who VOTED in the NEWMAN LNP GOVERNMENT seem to prove that THEY ARE RIGHT.

And I suspect, many of those LNP voters are now marching in the streets.
No sympathy from me...... morons.! Sad

I see. Australians make the right decision when they agree with you but are morons when they don't.

Well lucky for us, those morons will never vote a greens government in and by the looks, a labor government for a while either.

Now that, as you put it, must be the right decision.
