You think that matters? The majority of voters make decisions based on what they read/view in the media.

Make up your mind. I thought Alan Jones was the one person shaping minds. Do you honestly think those knuckle-dragging bogans can actually read?

I watched 7.30 last night and Julia was very impressive. She demonstrated her clear passion for standing up for the lower and working class, and spoke very well and effectively. When the election approaches, most Australins will come to see that the Coalition have no policies and no vision. All they want is power, and a return to extreme policies like work choices. Meanwhile, Labor and the Greens will stand up for those who do it tough. The choice will be clear. 12 months is a very long time in politics. They have plenty of time.

I am telling you right now the ALP are not going to win the next election - they are rusted in on Free Trade ideology and anti environmental taxation and immigration policies, they have tunnel vision, they are frightened of and incapable of change, they refuse to put Australia first and for 30 years of epic globalist fail, they have to go... You mean that a combined ALP/Greens team will put an end to organisations seeking volunteers and donations? An end to the sight of people selling yellow ribbons on Daffodil Day? An end to the sight of people selling red noses on Red Nose Day to raise funds for SIDS? What a beautiful future awaits us. How can I join the ALP/Greens "We Care for the Struggling, Infirm, Afflicted, Frail AUSTRALIANS?

Maybe the ALP/Greens team could help the people at Bear Cottage. Maybe the team might pay to have guide dogs trained rather than people volunteering their time to train guide dogs. Boy I'm excited.

On what page of the ALP/Greens' manifesto will I find the promise to aid Australian care organisations.

Quote:
how do volunteers help?

Bear Cottage relies heavily on a fabulous team of volunteers to assist with the smooth day to day running of the house. Volunteers complement the professional staff by providing practical support to our children and families during their stay. We ask that our volunteers are flexible and willing to help out wherever a need arisies within the house, this encompasses many diverse areas including:

Working alongside the play therapist & nursing staff with activities for the patients and their siblings such as play, craft, reading stories or taking them on outings
Assisting staff with practical activities such as cooking, cleaning & gardening
Taking visitors on tours of the house
Speaking externally to community groups who support Bear Cottage
Driving families to outings or appointments
    Walking our dog Frankie
    Administrative assistance

Volunteers need to show flexibility and a willingness to help out wherever there is a need.

Find out how to become a volunteer.

Sorry Smithy, your news is a bit old. This is more up-to-date:

JOURNALIST:
The government is about to announce, apparently, the Parliamentary Budget Office. Can you give us a sense of what use you would make of that and what limitations you would put on it?

JOE HOCKEY:
We will make use of it. We actually had a large number of proposed amendments to the Parliamentary Budget Office legislation. I thought they were amendments that were very worthwhile and maybe one day Labor will be in opposition and they will really regret they didn't support those amendments, I would suspect. But we will work with the Parliamentary Budget Office through the framework that I've outlined. We will send policies where it is appropriate to the Parliamentary Budget Office and ask them to provide advice on it. We're very keen to find out who the key personnel are and if they are independent and honourable people then we will use that Parliamentary Budget Office as a very positive initiative.

http://www.joehockey.com/media/transcripts/details.aspx?s=336

So did he get his PM bill through or not.
Will costing be released or not during the campaign, & if not what's the point of it?

No, the PM Bill wasn't supported by the Government.

As Mr Hockey said, they will make use the Parliamentary Budget Office to cost their policies.

I'm sure Labor will be putting their policies to the PBO, it would be very silly for the Liberals not to do the same.

They didn't last time & that was under the model Howard created.
Who knows, Liberals aren't serious about this country if they were Abbott would not be leading & 3/4 of his Shadow ministry would still be speaking at KKK meetings(where they belong) instead of parliament.

Oh oh oh look look look a race card and the KKK on the 1st page. Shocked

LOL how utterly pathetic!! Grin

I LOL in your general direction. Grin Grin

Perhaps people will vote for Abbott because of the dribbling shrill loops that support the left? Undecided

Cheesy

No chance.

Labor can't even keep all of its hardcore base. Do you really think people like me, who decide elections, are going to vote for them?

No way.

Not a first at all.

Howard was thrown out with low interest rates, low unemployment, large budget surplus, and an economy that was stronger than it is now.

True, but the economy is better now than it was under Howard.

Anyway, he'd been there 11 years.

Ahh no.  The economy is approximately $100b bigger (in GDP terms) now that it was in 2007.

We have had consistant positive GDP growth every year since howard.

I was referring to growth, not the absolute level of GDP.

Levels versus rates of change.

Definately not, but based on the ones on this board, they seem to be able to write.

Very impressive isnt it.  You'd barely know we had the greatest financial crisis since the great depression during that time, and hides the fact that our growth differential between us and the rest of the world is at level never dreamed of before.

In the end, Tony Abbott has no solution to the 'contention' issue regarding broadband in Australia.

This will prove to be true if the libs destroy the NBN!

Don't be surprised if aliens rise from the oceans to enslave the human race next Tuesday. Don't be surprised if your dog starts talking to you tomorrow night. Don't be surprised if Gillard never tells a lie again. Oh, wait - that last one seems highly unlikely to occur, unlike the other scenarios!

We shall see.  It won't be easy, but Labor has a shot.
