I watched 7.30 last night and Julia was very impressive. She demonstrated her clear passion for standing up for the lower and working class, and spoke very well and effectively. When the election approaches, most Australins will come to see that the Coalition have no policies and no vision.
You think that matters? The majority of voters make decisions based on what they read/view in the media.
And the media want you to think this country's going down the drain - this sells.
It's got to be a first: a government thrown out of office with low unemployment, low interest rates, no big foreign wars. Julia will be thrown out simply because people don't trust her.
Mind you, they don't trust Abbott either, but they see him as the worse of two evils. Personally, I can't remember an election that has been faught on such a fickle agenda - and where the choices are as stark as they are now. I might even vote Labor for the first time - they're pretty much a minority party.
Still, it's hardly an election. The Governor General might as well announce a Liberal government now. Labor have no chance of getting in whatsoever.
Democracy is a myth. Abbott will be the next PM. As far as the corrupt unions and the carbon tax fixes and the shonky Labor spin go, I can't think of a worse path for this country to go in than an Abbott-led government.
Possible path, that is. Fascism and communism are not really on the agenda.
But Abbott is.
