I dont see how its the government thats responsible for how much stock chemists keep.

It's not not the chemists but the wholesalers.
They obviously don't want to have a huge amount of stock
in case they don't sell it.
It should be obvious that the secret govt. stocks should be released in times of epidemics
but they are not.

What secret govt stocks? And how do you know about them?

You have to read between the lines:

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/health-science/billions-for-tamiflu-may-be-...

Quote:
Earlier this year, the Australian government was claiming credit for having one of the world's biggest stockpiles of anti-flu drugs, including Tamiflu and the Australian-developed rival drug Relenza. The federal government allocated $123.8m in the 2004-05 budget for antiviral medications for pandemic flu, and another $166.5m in the 2008-09 budget for the replacement of expiring medicines and equipment in the national medical stockpile, which now includes 6.1 million courses of Tamiflu.

A spokesman for the Department of Health and Ageing declined to say how much the government had spent on Tamiflu.

http://www.theage.com.au/business/swine-flu-drug-stockpiles-inadequate-20090427-...

Quote:
The Australian Government has a stockpile of 8.7 million courses of Tamiflu and Relenza, covering about one-third of the population, putting it behind countries such as Britain and France, which have enough courses to treat over half their population.

But with each course lasting about one week, Mr Cook said a three month pandemic meant just 5 per cent of the Australian population could be treated with the drug.

http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/flu-fear-prompts-rush-on-medicines/2005/09/2...

Quote:
The Federal Government has stockpiled about 4 million doses of Tamiflu and a similar drug, Relenza, in readiness for a flu outbreak.

But Health Minister Tony Abbott has said that amount would only be enough to protect a million workers in essential services for about six weeks.

Ok - who are these  1 million workers in essential services?

Who will be saved & who will die?

Can the Govt. show us their list of who gets it?

this new strain was developed in

an airforce weapons lab

just like the H1N1

http://www.sp@m.com/united-states/cdc-admits-the-a-h1n1-flu-was-created-in-a-gov...

CDC admits the A (H1N1) Flu was created in a government lab

From the CDC website:

-------------------------------

This report describes the successful reconstruction of the influenza A (H1N1) virus responsible for the 1918 "Spanish flu" pandemic and provides novel information about the properties that contributed to its exceptional virulence. This information is critical to evaluating the effectiveness of current and future public health interventions, which could be used in the event that a 1918-like strain reemerges, either naturally or through deliberate release. The knowledge from this work may also shed light on the pathogenesis of contemporary human influenza viruses with pandemic potential. The natural emergence of another pandemic virus is considered highly likely by many experts, and therefore novel insights into pathogenic mechanisms could contribute to the development of prophylactic and therapeutic interventions needed to control pandemic viruses.

What are the reasons for doing these experiments?
The influenza pandemic of 1918-19 killed an estimated 20 to 50 million people worldwide, many more than the subsequent pandemics of the 20th century. The biological properties that confer virulence to pandemic influenza viruses were poorly understood. Research to better understand how the individual genes of the 1918 pandemic influenza virus contribute to the disease process could provide important insights into the basis of virulence. This kind of information will enable us to devise appropriate strategies for early diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, should a similar pandemic virus emerge. Additionally, such research will provide us with general principles with which we can better design antiviral drugs and other interventions against all influenza viruses with enhanced virulence.

Who funded the work described in this article?
Work with the reconstructed 1918 virus was conducted at and supported by CDC. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) all provided support for many other aspects of this research.

When did CDC begin research on the 1918 virus?
CDC studies of the 1918 influenza virus were begun in 2004 with the initiation of testing of viruses containing subsets of the eight genes of the 1918 virus. Previous articles describing the properties of such viruses were published before 2005. Reconstruction of the entire 1918 virus was begun in August 2005.

Proof that the H1N1 Influenza A(Swine Flu) was ManMade June 27 09

This informative video with investigative journalist Wayne Madsen on RT or Russia Today sheds some light on the Swine flu outbreak.  Wayne Madsen through his reporting and researching has found with the help of H1N1 lab experts that this infact was manufactured to resist vaccines.  Thus proving that this strain of influenza is very uncommon and is virtually a "smart bug" .  Mr Madsen outlines the newest mutated versions found throughout the globe as well, I fear that we have not seen the full potential of this pandemic.  Autumn and winter months may bring this influenza into overdrive.

Hong Kong flu pandemic kills 700,000 people, due to the H3N2 virus.

Are you saying that all those 700,000 victims were unhealthy old people?
It's time you started trusting a scientist when he tells you something.

Seriously bobby.....read the timeline...1968 was before Tamiflu was invented....look at the 2003 outbreak.

the 72 hour window is about peak efficiency for the drug...it's NOT a instant death sentnce to go over the 72 hours...

IMO supposed "cures" dont do anything. The flu just runs its natural course. You can get stuff to make the symptoms easier to live with but it runs its course.
