Labor says Greens are EXTREMISTS
Jul 8th, 2012 at 1:15pm

http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/newshome/14162219/labor-has-no-values-hanson-young/

Australian Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young says a push by a Labor powerbroker to distance his party from the Greens would hand control of the Senate to the coalition.

The federal senator was commenting on a call by NSW Labor secretary Sam Dastyari for the Labor party to no longer automatically favour the Greens in any future preference negotiations.

"This would basically be handing the coalition control of the Senate," Senator Hanson-Young told Sky News on Sunday.

"That's bringing back Work Choices, it's destroying the price on carbon, it's towing boats back.

"It's all of the things that apparently Labor is meant to stand against."

Mr Dastyari has told News Ltd that "for too long too many people in the Labor party have been dealing with the Greens with kid gloves".

"We need to be taking a much tougher line in how we deal with the Greens politically when we look at things like preference negotiations," he said, ahead of the state Labor party conference next weekend.

He criticised the Greens for not compromising on the asylum seeker issue and described some of their policies as "extreme".

Senator Hanson-Young said Mr Dastyari had "insulted a good swag of the people that they (Labor) rely on, election-in and election-out".
"Sam Dastyari did say in his interview ... that there's a difference between the Greens' values and the Labor values and that's right: the Greens have values and the Labor party doesn't," she said.

Greens will soon be comfined to the dustbin of history.

Milne's grip on the Green's leadership is also weak. She's got Rhiannon and Hanson-Young licking their chops, sharpening the knives. This will be fun to watch.

Julia Gillard - twice selected, never elected.

We're still paying for the Whitlam Government.

It looks a little like there is  3 captains steering the ship, all pulling at the wheel.

Bob was able to keep the bitching and infighting under control. It'd open slather amongst them now.

I can't be live it, but I do agree with Hanson-Young on one thing - the Greens do have values, unlile Labor. As much as I disagree with them, the greens do seem to actually have certain values and key beliefs. The only value Labor seems to have is staying in power.

Putting the Greens last on their preference ticket is the very least the Labor party can do to remove this Green monster they created for political expediency.Tongue

Lets hope Labor has some guts left and preferences Liberals and Family First ahead of the Greens.
And Liberals preference Labor and Family First above.

Once this threat is used up, it no longer holds any power over the Greens.  Once it is used up, the old parties have nothing.

Victorian State Election, Libs move was brilliant in that it was a surprise tactic.

This time there will be no element of surprises and this weakens the shot.

Used once, and Greens still standing, the old parties hold no power while reinforcing that they are old and tired and they are in a coalition.

........and yet The Greens are panicking, name calling, accusing and infighting.

Their free ride to the Senate is over, now loves you will need to pay and get your seats by worth not by stealth.

So defending is panicing in your book.

That is fine in that we all understand your fear.

Also the fear Labor's right is feeling is real and understandable too. By attacking The Greens, the Right are attacking their left faction, try keeping it in check. Greens being up and front and in Labor's Right factions face are Labor's leftwing backbone.

This is more a Labor factional fight. Greens will work harder to support Labor's left. As Greens should do with Liberal's moderates.

Left right left right left right

You can't help yourself Millie can you?

Your left and right no longer exists. This is about extreme policy positions without wriggle room.

I have no fear, I know Australiam people and their hate of cockyness, the tall poppy syndrome. The Greens will increasingly have to justify their position with legitimate words NOT with emotive guilt laden words.

As I said.......Happy Days as you sing for your supper.

Then lets discuss border protection.

Liberal position on Nauru. Once people are process, they come to Australia. Correct?

So how will this stop the boats and protect Australia's borders?

Then we are on the same page. Labor preferencing Family First and Liberals above Greens is a Labor decision and a reflection of Labor's continuing shift from it's core.

This is good in that as LibLab get closer to a formal coalition, Greens are the alternative and the natural party for progressive voters.
