Both crashes occurred to the front passenger seat where Liberal leaders were seated.

Premier Campbell Newman escapes injury in car crash

The Queensland's Premier's car was allegedly struck by a vehicle driven by a young woman while he was on his way to the Local Government Association of Queensland annual conference.

A spokeswoman for the Premier said Mr Newman was unharmed, despite the vehicle colliding with his car on the side he was sitting.

“Everybody is fine,” she said.

“He will be checked by paramedics after he finishes his speech (to the LGAQ).”

The woman driver was taken to hospital with minor back and neck injuries, and officers are yet to formally interview her.

Mr Newman said the other car had shot out of a side street.

“I could see it all happening, but there was no way it was going to stop,” he said.

“It shook us all up a lot. The door was completely jammed. I had to literally kick the door with both feet to get out.”...
