Calls for a greens smack down in labor
Jul 7th, 2012 at 8:50am

Labor think that people will forget once they get out of bed with the greens. Only problem is, is that labor will be in a coalition with the greens, right up to the next election.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard's close link to the Greens Party has reportedly been challenged by the party's New South Wales secretary Sam Dastyari.

In what News Limited describes this morning as a declaration of war on Ms Gillard's alliance partner, Mr Dastyari says Labor should consider preferencing the Greens last at the federal election.

News Limited says the call was made without consulting the Prime Minister.

Mr Dastyari describes the Greens as extremists not unlike One Nation and says Labor must stop treating them like they are part of the family.

Just goes to that Gillard has no authority or credibility in Labor.

They've all got a knife in her back - dead woman walking - will be out by the end of the year.

Julia Gillard - twice selected, never elected.

We're still paying for the Whitlam Government.

Their vote is steady and will remain so as long as they stick with their principals.
Abbott has made sure that any co operation between the two major parties wont happen again for a very long time if ever again so the Greens have Abbott to thank for their hold over policy.
Political parties have long memories so the Libs cant expect Labor to vote with them on anything now the precedent has been set.

Yep, same 10%'er nutters, year in year out. The only change is 2 - 3 % of idiots that goes up and down (a cycle of looking for new and saying bugger those loons), but the same 10% stay there.

1. Liberal support is all over the place? Is that why thirty vote has been in the mid to high 40s for well over a year now, and Labor's has been in the high 20s to low 30s?

2. The Greens hold only 9 out of 76 Senate seats, and may not hold the BOP after the next election.

3. The Greens are only as powerful as Labor allows them to be. If the continue to vote with the Greehs in opposition, then they can kiss government goodbye forever. If they admit that they were too close, and sever ties with the greens, then they may rebuild. The greens are an albatross around the necks of Labor, and they need to cut them loose for their own benefit.

I heard that KAP, Xenophon and the DLP may hold the BOP post next election. I would be very happy with that, Nick X is dead againay the carbon tax, and KAP and the dLP obviously have conservstive values. John Madogan is a lovely and decent man, too.

Brillant.

Can you see Liberal Voters preferencing Gillard and Labor Voters preferencing Abbott.

So that means a vote for Lib is a vote for Lab and vice versa ... making The Greens and Independents the Alternative Government.

Greens are playing the old party's perfectly.

These are the facts on DD elections in Australia, the outcomes are FAR  from the promised land scenario the conga line fantasise about. I say if phony tony did manage to win gov bring on a DD bring it on, phony tony.

Quote:
There have been six double dissolution's since federation and one joint sitting.

In 1914 and 1983, the government lost the election that followed the dissolution and no further action was taken on the disputed bill or bills.

In 1951 the government won the election with a majority in the Senate and so the deadlock was broken in that way.

In 1974 and 1987 the government won the election but did not have a majority in the Senate. In 1974 the six bills that had been the basis for a double dissolution were passed by the one and only joint sitting. In 1987 the government decided not to proceed with the bill after all.

So only once, in 1951, did a gov win a DD with a senate majority and break a deadlock. good luck conga dancers. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
