People flee persecution and war every day ... and some of these people die every day.

Perhaps Australia's old parties may turn a new leaf and follow Greens lead ... a humane path.

Weak boarder policies are the blame for all the boats, we all know it, Labor created the problem. Not just for us but also for Indonesia.

Everyone knows temporary protection visas with offshore processing would solve the problem. Labor is just to pig headed to admit it was wrong.

Yes. They shouldn't have to get on those boats. We should transport them here by plane.

So Australia's action, with a handfull of refugees, will stop wars and persecution and end all push factors.

Are you sure about this.

Very true, except that these people aren't fleeing from persecution and war. They are illegal (economic) immigrant country-shoppers too impatient to wait in line and push out legitimate refugees waiting in squalid UN camps around the world.

So Afghan isn't a war and Australians are losing life and limb for economic reasons.

Tamils, in Sri Lanka, are not still being persecuted.

Well what are the greens doing about it Greeny? Nothing. They are happy to keep putting peoples lives at risk while abandoning the real refo's in the camps.

In various countries in Europe that receive these supposed asylum seekers, the rejection rate for people coming from somewhere like India is close to 90%. Now we have people coming to the Cocos Islands by boat from... wait for it... India! Don't you suppose that word has got out all the way to India that Australia is a soft touch and to come here instead of run the very high risk of being deported from European countries?
