So the Greens support the continuation of indiscrimate aerial bating and trapping of ALL wildlife in national parks?

I'm not a representative for the Greens but... to me, that's a different argument.

The questions are -

IF you believe that shooting of feral animals in National Parks is a good and necessary thing (and it may or may not be) then please explain WHY it was necessary to tie it to the sell off of the electricity infrastructure. Why could it not be done as a stand alone change? Why has it not been done in the past by previous governments of all persuasions?

Sorry but I wasnt the one who started with the shooting of animals and people, I'm presenting the other side that get's forgotten, I'm involved with two envoiromement groups locally and I abhore the use of baits and traps. Controlled shooting is the only humane answer other than The Greens blanket of do nothing and let them breed.

On your question, it's ok for the Greens to tie their support of government policy with something unrelated, why not others?

the green_goober has set even lower standards for his debating today with this. Maybe he thinks he might be mistaken for a feral pig himself?  then why not have a BATH!

Good to see you have RAISED your standards of debate.  Tongue

What describes Greens_win best?

A. Pissing into the wind?

B. Pushing shite up hill?

C. Up shite creek in a barded-wire canoe?

Undecided

What's a "barded-wire" canoe? Does it recite poetry over the phone as you paddle?  Grin

Seriously, Fatty has taught us that the price of the electricity infrastructure in NSW is some bullets. How cheap a price is that for our crucial infrastructure?

You’ve not heard of the “Shakespeare” range of canoes? Huh

I think it's quite understandable for the shooters party to tie their vote to something Fatty was wanting. Any minor party would do the same.

The question though is why did Fatty tie the two together? And if baits and traps are so inhumane, why haven't previous governments allowed shooting? The answer to the first bit is pretty easy - Fatty needed the votes. I don't know the answer to the second bit but I suspect that it's along the lines that there's more to it. That allowing ungoverned shooters in puts risks on other users of the park as well as native animals. That previous governments have looked at the risks and the potential downside and decided against going down that path but that Fatty was willing to go that extra step.

That's my guess. Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

We have no problem with the gun lobby bush walking in national parks ... without their guns.

So yes, we do.

You need to set your priorities.
People hunting is not evil.
People having guns is not evil.
People hunting feral species is very much needed.

If you actually cared about our environment you would support their culling by any means possible.

So if Australians don't support the nuking of Australia, to get rid of the cane toad, then Australians are anti environment.

Correct?

Can ANYONE, anyone at all find a connection between the quote and the post by green_lunatic?

dial back the 1:1 relationship and he then has a legitimate point. Teh greens opposed burnoffs and the clearing of treens and underbrush aorund houses which were major killers in teh bushfires. he has a point.

No it was stated at the time & refuted.

It's just more urban myths taken as truth.

refuted... by the Greens. hardly proof since they are on record as opposing clearing (can you imagein them not being opposed?) Anyhow, I said to dial back on rippers accusation some. But the Greens are still at fault here to some degree.

If I remember correctly it was the retarded council that prevented people from burning off around their homes. The residents said that at the time, so there you go.

Greeny you would be surprised I'm against mining in our national parks, I'm also against foreign ownership of our farms.
