I went for a walk down to the Parramatta river at lunchtime yesterday, and with all the rain we've had, it was at least a couple of metres higher than usual.  Judging from the debris on the grass and on the pedestrian bridge and some seats, it looked like the water had been even higher earlier.  You could hear the water flowing over the weir from the other side of Church Street.  Here's a few photos:
