Well, you have the Australia concept of being a 'wealthy' nation only because our population doesn't grow for want of Boat People and New Zealanders or because our women work long hours to keep up with the high cost of living a certain lifestyle with the latest 'technology'.

In essence, if Australia was OPENED UP and the population here suddenly boomed, then - like a Pandora Box, the rest of the World's population might decline due to our 'Minimalistic' nature?

We are anti-youth and pro-aged care. Don't believe the TV, it just doesn't relate to here and is still stuck in America you could say. The statistics prove that we have the highest ratio of Aged in the world. So there you have it - we aren't pro-youth like an over-populated Mexico or India, USA, etc.

eg: One nation has a booming, self-sufficient population growth. Two Adults (hetero) have five kids.

Another nation with a high divorce rate has one kid with two sets of parents. So this kid is surrounded by a sense of wisdom and maturity, etc.

So the chances of the kids of the first nation just breeding and the kid from the second nation achieving.

Alas, the first provides stupidity/weakness and over-population, the other doesn't breed at all.

So you see why Australia is why it is and what its real agenda for the world is. Forget about the position of Prime Minister regardless of who it is - as the 'leader' of this nation. They haven't a clue let alone a sense of true empowerment here.

Also, the fact that Australia - if it isn't opened up: provides a living example of 'quality' of living rather than quantity. That is that we become long-lived: longevity and I don't mean by wealth. Something else entirely ...but thats another secret Wink

...and thus the concept of a hetero relationship is one of no consequence. In fact, at the most - some, like in Hollywood are more for 'career enhancements'. So having sex without consequence (that is: children/procreation/family/outbreeding other races/etc) is all the rage and even a neurologist can explain that a certain part of a brain doesn't perform strongly because of all the 'weak' bondings that occur from 'flings' and 'casual sex' to the point that a person who has been contraceptively swayed in regards to sex - finds it hard to have a long-term relationship at all.
This is also possibly and I say possibly, why many homo-sexual relationships are happening. Bored of having shallow non-committal experiences with the opposite sex "Well, maybe same-sex will work?". But in truth, it really comes down with "Hell people, you should have just forgot about relationships in the first place and just focus upon working/studying towards some great achievement."

So jump on that horse of Celibacy
try not to fall off the other side and kiss the dirt
in the name of homo-sexuality
and ride off into the sunset of success.

Also, thanks to the Pill. You now have a male known as a Tool. He gets laughed at a lot in the workplace by his fellow males because he is a bit of an idiot. He thinks he's a big stud with the women, because they use guys like that as something akin to a vibrator or dildo. These guys become sexualisedly vain (often Gay) and complete bores in any conversation beyond a zoo magazine (cuz maybe beastiality will get marriage rights too one day?).

Anyway - there you have it. The Pill is good for you and an over-populated nation. But it is also bad for you and 'breeds' a false sense of achievement and success.

...just my opinion Wink

Australia is NOT an over-populated nation,
in fact - if it wasn't for Boat People and New Zealanders, our population would be in Recession, if not Depression.
Thus, I don't think the Pill should be as 'free' as it is here. I think Australia is one nation that shows the negative aspect of the Pill.
PLUS - I think that after a 2nd or 3rd generation of Pill usage, the chances for women to fall pregnant are far lesser. Hence why IVF is growing here and the need for sperm banks etc. Australian women are just going 'sterile' down the track let alone taking a caesarian cop out from natural birthing.

What a bizarre poll.

Women the world over should be given easy access to the pill.

Since when has it been "free" ?

Why do we need the population to grow? Who wants to be overcrowded? We dont have enough housing as it is.

Oh hullo warning bell here. WTF is this weird crap. Hmmmmm . . . . .havent heard this one before. Ceasarian births are used when a normal birth would cause the mother complications (like death) or when the baby hasnt come when it was supposed to and is overdue (since sticking a clamp up in there and pulling it out would harm the baby). For a few years there in the 80s it was an opt-in thing but they stopped that as far as I know. Not sure why since it seems it should be up to the woman.

nar thats what caesareans are supposed to be used for.

Quote:
The average Caesarean rate in Australia was 21.9% in 1999 (up from 21.1% in 1998). This is up to twice the recommended rate (10 - 15%) by the World Health Organization (WHO). The high rates of Caesareans in western countries are usually attributed to them being performed too often for non-medical reasons.

Bear in mind these are 1999 stats, and they have continued to rise since then.

They stopped it. I have a friend who wanted one and apparently now they only do them for the reasons I said. She had to have one afterall though because the baby was like a month late or something. It could be different in different states though? Maybe . . .

On another note WTF is wrong with it? Seems its men that complain that women dont want to go through all that pain. Or whatever the reason is that isnt medical. It doesnt harm the baby, Whats the problem?

No, they didn't stop it.

In Australia in 2006, more than 30% of women who gave birth had a caesarean.

More than half of all caesareans in Australia are due to the effects of intervention or for reasons other than medically indicated.

It delivers measurably poorer health outcomes for the child.  For a start the baby will naturally come when it's ready - scheduled caesars commonly get it before it's ready, leading to tense times in the neonatal ward.  Also, getting squished through the birth canal helps prime their body for survival outside the womb.  check the link above for more.
On the one hand, doctors push it so they can make more money, but on the other, many chicks choose it for selfish reasons.

Well maybe they stopped it for a while and started it up again I dunno. Just remember my friend saying they didnt want to give it to her then she had to.

What are these "selfish" reasons?

Not that I believe you @ all. I havent heard of this being a "problem" before. Need to find out a bit more about it before I just take your word for it. Judging from your views on other topics i expect theres something not being said here that I need to find out.

Heh. Oh. After reading your link I see why she had to have it.

you know 30% still isn't a real lot.

Okay the reasons "that may not be essential" I suppose are the "selfish reasons". Looks like they are up to the mother though.

Western women are so incompetant when it comes to having babies.
I've worked in Maternity Wards (I had to clean the Delivery Suits).
Only a small proportion of women who are called 'sluts' take the Govt $$$ and just pop out kids at a young age.
Most Australian women do the Economy proud by working/studying = $$$ before having kids at a much later age. The majority of women I saw were in their late 30's / early 40's.

Not only that - Caesarians were given willy-nilly because it suited the Doctor's 'time-frame'.
Also because of a shortage of Doctors because most are doing boob-jobs and face-lifts for the pedantically rich $$$

Western women give birth in a retarded way. By laying on their back with their feet up in the air or in stirrups and allowingh the weight of the baby to move upon the spine and produce even more pain a resistance and thus give an excuse to have more drugs which probably enter the babie's system and make them feel doped out and a bit slllllllooooow.

Western Women should HTFU, get on all fours or stand up and let gravity be your drug.

...I was born a month late with only the help of salad-spoons, definately not your ever-growing population of Premature babies and all their ailments and fragilities. Let alone deformaties and retardations due to pollution and illicit drugs.

I'm like a fine wine - aged and matured the moment I was born. I didn't cry - I just said "Boo!" Tongue

Western Women - no wonder we need Boat People to boost our population and Mexican women are outbreeding the White women in the USA itself. Mexican women pop out more babies quicker and with less complications.

That's ok. Borgasboard.
Its not like I've ever wasted my life working for a Bank's interest rates on a Home Loan and having a 'place' of my own.
To much to see and people to meet. Wink

There is every chance that the world population will stabilise by mid century. The current population increase in Africa, which is the main area of growth, is not sustainable.

nowhere is sustainable.
Not even here because we exploit our own resources to the max to make cash to buy things made overseas for fear of techno inferiority.
