Man is born of woman yet the religiosose claim god made man and then made a woman from a bit of his rib. Don't matter how you slice it, cloning makes identical copies therefore eve was a man.-- Steve meet Adam.

It's mostly crazy creationists that believe that Genesis is literal. Pope John Paul II in 1979 stated that Genesis is mythological, and even St Augustine of Hippo in the 4th Century CE stated that parts of Genesis were not intended to be interpreted literally.

Quote:
The creation account is accomodated to the limited understandings of the target audiences for Genesis, and that we are not to imagine that God, literally, made a clay man, as if with literal hands, and then blew breath into it's face and caused it to become an ensouled human.
............. this account need not be taken strictly literally.

I don't think we have any crazy young Earth creationists around here, but good luck.

Why drag religion into it. I thought (maybe misguided) That a single cell was first then came multiple cell organisms followed by more complex micro organisms and as we follow down the path of evolution at different time divisions happened so we end with the diversity we have. I know that sections of this are theory but they are based on what we know combined with logical deduction and probability with a dose of maths. I still prefer to try and understand this and be prepared to evolve as we discover new things that may give rise to challenge these ideas rather than believing with blind faith that some supernatural being just happened to create everything in six days then had a BBQ on the seventh.

God does as He wants. He doesn't need to create Eve from Adam's rib, but that is what He wanted to do.

The existence of Israel explained.  Grin

Allah didn't need to but wanted to create a Jewish state that surpasses the Muslims in everything. A lesson?

But the Muslims want to destroy Allah's lesson to them because, they say, that is ALSO Allah's will.

Does Allah want Muslims to destroy the Israel Allah wanted to created?

And how the hell would Muslims know?  Any practical questions will short-circuit the Islamist mind. The incompatible of Islamists doctrine and plain common sense is palpable.

Israel, like Pharoah and Herod, has been created as a test for Muslims. Israel will perish like Pharoah and Goliath before them. These are the signs of God Almighty.

How the hell would you know that??

Quote:

Ditto.

Everything perishes. The caliphates perished. Nothing lasts forever.

SO if things you don't like as a Muslim perish, that is a sign from Allah. But if if things you don't like come into being -Israel- that is a sign from Allah, too. Everything is Allah's will. You have no idea what Allah's will is. And you have know idea where this is all going. So you just make up the 'signs' to please your preferences because you have no way knowing Allah's plan. Allah and humans do not share reason or even love. Allah could do evil things if the whim takes him.

This is what happens when people - sons of Mohammed - embrace irrationality and radical unknowability as a guiding principle to face life. Everything becomes random, Allah's random, it's all about submission to the Random.

How about this: Mohammed and Islam were created by Allah to test everyone.

You cannot possibly rule this out.
