Sydney has experienced the driest May (so far) since 1856.

Coincidence ?  I think not.

First, incorrect.

Second, if you don't know what A, B and C are , you really are out of your depth.

No wonder AGW disciples are laughed at so much.    Roll Eyes

Mr Meat, I believe you were the one who ran away like a school girl from another GW thread when asked to produce an example of A, let alone B or C.

"It is now the driest May since records began in 1859."

LOL    153 years   Grin

153 years, in terms of global climate change, is absolutely nothing.

global climate change in the past caused mass extinctions.  global climate change now (as we hear records broken year after year) will cause....

It's hard to believe that people as ignorant as you actually exist.

However, seeing as you're an AGW disciple ... I suppose it's understandable.

So, now that you've admitted that you have no idea what A, B or C could possibly be, I suppose I will have to spoon feed you like a baby:

For example ...

Variations in the Earth's orbital characteristics.
Atmospheric carbon dioxide variations (non-anthropogenic).
Volcanic eruptions.
Variations in solar output.

You've honestly never heard of any of these?   Roll Eyes

As I stated before:

AGW "Argument": we know that D is the current cause of warming, therefore, we should completely ignore A, B, and C.  Let's just focus all of our attention on D and forget A, B and C ever happened.

Sceptics' Argument: A, B and C have caused warming in the past therefore we can not exclude them as possible causes of current warming.  However, D could also be a contributor and it should not be ignored.  Even though the current evidence supporting D is dubious, we'll keep an open mind on the subject.

AGW Disciples: AGW is destroying the planet and that's the end of the argument.  I don't care about any other hypothesis and I won't look at any new evidence.

Sceptics: currently, I don't subscribe to the AGW hypothesis (as the evidence is less than reliable), however, I'm willing to keep an open-mind on the subject and will analyse each new piece of evidence that is presented.  In the future I may very well support the AGW hypothesis, that is, if any credible and reliable evidence is eventually presented.

Here, this may help you too:

Variations in the Earth's orbital characteristics.

Significant in the long term (cause of glaciations). Insignificant on a 200 year time span.
Quote:
Atmospheric carbon dioxide variations (non-anthropogenic).

Pretty well accounted for. When you talk about anthropogenic fluxes compared to natural, just make sure you balance them (eg
Atmosphere -> Ocean
versus
Ocean -> Atmosphere

It's cheating to take anthropogenic CO2 fluxes as a proportion of positive fluxes (red text) only. (You wouldn't stoop that low, would you?)
Quote:
Volcanic eruptions.

Large Stratospheric volcanoes cause small blips of the order of 1-2 year duration. Insignificant in the scheme of things.
Quote:
Variations in solar output.

One of the best measured parameters of the lot. This has slowly been decreasing very slightly over the last 50 year. (apart from slight variations at solar maxima of the order of  1 W/m2 between solar minimum and maximum - that's around 0.1% variation)
...

Did you have a E,F or G?

Thank you for your subjective opinions.

It's good to see that some AGW disciples can at least acknowledge the existence of alternative hypotheses.

OK ...

"global climate change now (as we hear records broken year after year) will cause.... AGW disciples to confuse short term, local weather patterns with global climate change."

"global climate change now (as we hear records broken year after year) will cause.... a rash of fear-mongering and closed-mindedness."

So while global warming caused extinctions in the past, somehow this one wont ?

By reading  your posts. You've made up your mind to ignore the logical, and embrace the radical.

You don't understand what open-mindedness is, do you?   Roll Eyes

From a previous post of mine:

Incorrect.

Explain which part of this you don't understand:

" ... currently, I don't subscribe to the AGW hypothesis (as the evidence is less than reliable), however, I'm willing to keep an open-mind on the subject and will analyse each new piece of evidence that is presented.  In the future I may very well support the AGW hypothesis, that is, if any credible and reliable evidence is eventually presented."

You can't honestly read that and say I don't have an open mind on the subject.   Roll Eyes
