Newman Rules Out Carbon Court Challenge.

Newman rules out joining carbon tax court challenge
May 8, 2012

A High Court challenge against the carbon tax will fail and Queensland won’t be part of it, Premier Campbell Newman says.    Huh

Mr Newman said he has received legal advice not to join any challenge to the federal government’s tax on big polluters.

"We’re not going to waste taxpayers money given it indicates that, sadly, the federal drafters of this have done a good job of making it very bullet-proof," Mr Newman told 2GB radio.   Smiley

"I’ve also talked to at least one other state leader about this, and they’ve had similar advice so we’re not going to waste the taxpayers' money.

"But I wish I could."

He described the tax as ‘‘economic madness’’, saying he would have joined the legal action ‘‘if it had been 50/50’’.

He said the tax would compromise Queensland’s ability to process resources locally.

"That’ll all happen overseas."

Climate science is good science and its agreed by an overwhelming consensus of scientists. 99%. The economics of this package are excellent. Newman is an idiot.   Smiley

Please reference any survey that 99% of scientists agree that Climate Change is dominated by man-made CO2 emissions.

"as debatable as global warming and climate change"

Only the mining lobby and their fawning followers pretend there is a debate about the science. Every national science academy on the planet and all govts agree on the evidence.

I want govt policy based on mainstream science, not on the fantasies of vested interests.   Wink

There's a bit of cost cutting and common sense from Newman, onya Campbell!

He's getting rid of paid morning teas and hired pot plants in government offices too.

I wonder if he'll have the guts to do away with the 'personal development' bs that wastes so much of the taxpayers money?
