I hate Matt Smith with a passion and like there's no tomorrow. I really loathe the new angle on Doctor Who, in which it's now a show for hyperactive six year olds with the attention span of a gnat. Angry

No good writing or acting, just 'comedy' schtick and hack showrunning.

I'm a big Peter Davison fan, for the record! I grew up watching him, you see. Cheesy

The new dr who seems to be the same kind of writing as the old dr who IMO. Its just that they have better graphics and monsters now. Its always been quite comedic too. Still I liked tom baker the best myself.

I've got the DVDs of most of the Hartnell episodes and he's pretty good in the role. With a lesser performance in the lead role, the show probably wouldn't have got past the first series. What does let the Hartnell episodes down today (aside from being black and white, which puts some people off for some strange reason) is the production values, as it was done on a very limited budget - probably the most obvious example being The Edge of Destruction.
