I just don't assume every state has the same TV channels, or even if they did, that they'd be airing exactly the same programs in the same time slots -- that there'd be some variation. I don't even assume Sydney has exactly the same programs. For example, you'd have different weather reports and you wouldn't be interested in a South Australian election campaign.

Just because you talk about something associated with a person, doesn't mean it can't be an attack on that person. If your boss consistently calls your business or design ideas "stupid," it might as well be an attack on you personally. If repeated often enough, I'd say your boss has to be arrogant or abusive to be speaking of you or your work in that way. You'd eventually feel worthless after being put-down so many times.

If it's really ok to be saying nasty things about a "thing" that isn't a person, then I can say anything I like about Queensland because Queensland is not a person. It's an idea. It's a perimeter marking the boundaries of a piece of land. I actually didn't say anything nasty about Queensland, but even if I did, your response would be a "hostile over-reaction" by your own reasoning.

It only took the half a century and a Japanese invasion for the US to finally leave the Philippines.

The US nuked Japan, forced them to change their religion, and still has bases their nearly 70 years later.

Bases in Germany, South Korea, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, etc. are more than half a century old.

The US will leave after they have contaminated your country with their uranium-depleted bombs, and left  land mines and cluster bombs to keep prosthetic limb producers in business for generations.
