Peter Costello is often pointed to with pride by the Coaliltion for his economic handling.
i.e 167 tonnes of Australian gold he dumped for $300 and ounce, causing a crash in the world gold price and Australians losing on gold mining investments in that sector.

So when their Howard government period economic guru says Tony Abbott is an Economic Illiterate, there must be truth to this statement.

Abbott, Hockey, Joyce and Palmer ... the Coalition's moronic economic team.

They have a Financial Black Hole that everything on the economy the Coalition touch, the Coalition's Funding Black Hole grows in density.

The Gravity of this coalition economic disaster is now pulling the coalition away from an election momentum towards winning the next election, to grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory.

So now back to the thread topic, Abbott The Economic Illiterate.

Why is he not strengthening his teams credentials by dumping Hockey and replacing with with someone who knows the difference between billions and millions.

Is the coalition's salary route they have going really worth losing the next election.

More proof Abbott Is Penny Wise and Pound Foolish?

i.e
Abbott's Economic Illiteracy.

Comort yourself with the thought that no one could be as economicaly illiterate as Swan and Gillard.

Things must improve under Abbott and, if the task proves too hard for him, I'm sure he'll lend his large ears to professional advice!

Swan got through the worst economic crisis in over a century in pretty good order. He seems to have sufficient runs on the board to make you comment laughable yet you want to compare him to a team of utter economic dribblers.

You need to get over it - they are gone - the Howard government were dispatched in 2007 there is no point in a royal commission.

If thet were true I would have been one of the people screaming for Howard to be tried over war crimes - the case is strong against him - But I wasn't.

On your claim what would the royal commission be about - there are no grounds as far as I can see?

Like in NSW and QLD where the incoming Liberals lied saying things were worse than they were as an excuse for the mass sacking programmes that were excited about running. In NSW they claimed a deficit and an audit found that it was a surplus. The Liberals admitted to a $70 Billion black hole in 2010 - the policies to derive that are still current but the money to fund the part previously covered is diminished without their extra commitments like to roll back the fixed carbon price.

You should be less worried about the true figures and more concerned about what the Liberals are guaranteed to do to those figures with their current reckless spending plans.

The finance people are saying that standard practices were used the same ones that the Libs use and that to have included these numbers would have been wrong. i.e. an audit would have found them to be errors.

No recession good employment numbers and a strong economy.

And we have seen Abbott blocking any viable solution for as long as he could and when his solution was finally implemented Nauru it failed completely.

do we need a ROYAL bloody oath.

I don’t see one point in that which would justify a royal commission, nobody ever called a royal commission over that sort of rubbish.

You mean to say that voters would be turned off Abbott by what Costello was supposed to have said?

I hadn't heard Costello say that and unless hearing it from an honest source, wouldn't believe it.

As Abbott is a Rhodes' scholar and Costello isn't, such a statement would be that of an ass if a successful  in treasury-ass.

That is one plus for Abbott, he doesn't go in for belittling people. As a Rhodes' scholar I think he will do well and let's not throw stones before he gets his chance.

Isn't it funny how all the righty morons on here who proclaim Costello to be a God on all things economic, are prepared to simply ignore his opinion when it comes to Abbotts economic abilities .... why is that? Is that because you don't think he knows what he is talking about regarding running the economy or is it just because its Abbott?
