Anyway, the interview with Oakes this morning was an absolute joke. I can't imagine the next depth to which Labor will stoop. I didn't think that it would get this low. It beggars belief/

I know you present yourself as a swinging voter but do you realise this has nothing to do with swapping wives with your neighbour on election eve?

If you want to claim Labor is responsible for Oakeshott you'd need to supply some kind of justification. Y'know, reasoned argument beyond saying "Labor is crap" all the time.

I am sorry, but I really have no idea what you're trying to say. Could you please explain, because I am beyond lost.

I AM a swinging voter, I don't just represent myself as such.

You come on here bagging what Oakeshott said this morning and then in the next breath you say there's no depth to which Labor will stoop. You DO realise Oakeshott is not in the Labor party don't you? Is there some reason you are blaming Labor for what he said? Believe it or not, many people didn't see the interview. Explain yourself!

Mate, could you kindly go back and actually read my post?

Did you mean Laurie Oakes? If that's the case that's my fault and my apologies again. I misunderstood you to be talking about Oakeshott.

But in that case, I have even less of an idea what on earth you're posting about than I did before. What are you bagging Labor for?

Well he's fooled everyone. He is certainly not representing the people of Port Macquarie, that's for sure!!! He may have the seat but he is not representing the people.

I worry about the 5,848 loonies.

17%, that's amazingly high. I believe Craig Thomson is entitled to the presumption of innocence but that doesn't stop me from jumping to my own conclusions. Is there something I'm missing here. I would have voted yes.

Of course you would have, you poor misguided, gullible soul.

Wow, that was a mistake. I actually meant I would have voted no. I was thinking yes he is guilty. I'm still wondering why the yes vote was so high. Perhaps others made the same error as me.

Oh do come on, really!

Sorry, my mistake. I'm jumping to the same conclusion as the rest of you. But then I also thought Lindy Chamberlain was guilty.

Yes all well and good but the idea of a set up by Jackson's husband particularly with the venomous way she has intentionally torn down the union, could be the real juicy stuff to keep us entertained for months.

Especially in the light  of the acknowledgment by Mal Brough ... former Liberal MP in the Howard yrs...., Remember him?

Who  said he had in fact spoken to the young man Ash?? something.. accusing Peter Slipper , had in fact spoken to him on several occassions prior to the laying of accusations in the media. Had  advised him to go with it, blah blah..  I heard and saw him saying this.  Huh Huh Shocked

Seems a mite suspicious to me...!!!!

All seems rather orchestrated to throw mud as far as possible.  And we know whose only forte that is.
Yep Abbott and his nasty cronies.

Wouldn't trust them as far as I could kick them.!!!!

I remember the whole lead-up up to this joke of a parliament.....  and I know who are responsible.
Just watch Question Time.

Then imagine ...?  no  'tis too foul a thought.!!! Angry

Sorry, Jalane, I think you might be on your own here. The only missing piece of the puzzle is why haven't any of the girls worked out there might be a bit of money in an expose. There's the interview then the cover of Zoo Magazine.

People do dumb things when they think they are immune from accountability.

WOW the ignorance stuns me. You know Port Macquarie do you? I lived for a very long time on the mid-north coast and the only politician that ever stood up was Oakeshott. The rest are completely useless national party lap dogs that do nothing but what the liberal party tell them. They have got nothing for the area achieved in the way of infrastructure, jobs and social development. The whole area has gone through decades of neglect as labor won't help and the nat's take them for granted. They have only cared since Oakeshott started rubbing their noses in their own arrogance now he faces the full weight of the lies and deceit of the nationals and their shock jock mates like Haddley.

I did think Thompson's use of the word "Hookers" was a bit strange.  I would have thought a Politician may have used the word "Prostitute".  I don't know, it just implied a degree of familiarity.
BTW, First post, thanks for having me !

Well, as the poet says, no worries, then eh?  They'll re-elect him with an increased margin.  But until then, what to do with this piece of polling news:

Mr Oakeshott's primary support in Lyne, on the NSW mid-north coast, has collapsed from 47.1 per cent at the time of the election to 26 per cent. Mr Windsor's support in New England, which adjoins Lyne, has slumped from 61.9 per cent to 33 per cent

Longweekend,
A man is innocent until proven guilty.

You are just part of Abbott's lynch mob.

ONLY in a court of law. IN every other area of life, gulit is assigned based on the known facts which even you must admit is hardly flattering.

Hi Longweekend,
Haven't you ever looked at some of the women in your
church congregation with lascivious eyes?

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
