Thomson hasn't been charged or convicted of anything yet so he has the presumption of innocence on his side.
If he ever gets charged and convicted then he will have the book thrown at him but until then we live in a country that runs by the rule of law and not on the whims of Tony Abbott.

You defending him just proves my point. Anyone with any part of a brain can see that he is guilty, playing dumb and naive is just crass and belittling yourself. The Greens are a hypocritical disgrace. Tony Abbott is the rightful Prime Minister of Australia, and soon enough, he will be in that position, and most Australians will rejoice at being rid of this disgusting Labor/Greens mess that calls itself a government.

How is using the Australian legal standard of waiting for charges and a conviction defending anything?

Don't see anyone chasing the Liberals over the way they have hounded this guy and the various law enforcment agencies for nothing but political gain.

If he were not in politics the police findings of no case to answer would have stood with no comment from the Libs - they have been a disgrace in this irrespective of whether he is innocent or guilty.

Yep...lets all embrace the new concept of trial by media  Grin

Yes, he's totally innocent. That's why he's been found by FWA to have breached 156 contraventions, and has been relegated (finally) to the cross benchers. That's also why he didn't pursue his credit card being stolen, and signature being forged. All the signs of a totally innocent man.

I didn't say he was innocent..I said like everyone in this country he is entitled to the presumption of innocence until he is charged, put on trial and convicted.
He hasn't even been charged with anything yet so all your going by is the media frenzy and the usual dummy spitting by the opposition.
He sounds like a nasty bit of work but if that's all we need to get rid of pollies there wouldn't be anyone left in the parliament.

You are trying to belittle me, but you're only belittling yourself.

Give me one piece of evidence, just one, that suggests that he could be innocent. I have already mentioned several on the opposing view.

Sorry but I believe in our legal system and Im willing to wait for justice to take its course but if you believe that trial by media and Abbotts constant dummy spitting is a replacement for the rule of law then so be it...I disagree with you.

I'm sorry, but you didn't answer my actual question.

I have no personal evidence that he is either innocent or guilty of any crime.

Your playing dumb is not going to wash with me. I am talking about the evidence that we have seen.

How am I playing dumb?
I support the justice system and Ive learnt over the years not to believe everything I hear in the media and that all oppositions are whiny hypocrites.
