FWA (a Labor affiliated organisation) came out with the details about Thomson, entailing just what Andrei said. What more is there to say?
Actually the FWA is a government body. You don't do yourself any credit claiming it is "Labor affiliated". Next thing you'll be wailing that all of the CSIRO is secretly in a cabal with the Labor party because they won't give you the answers you want.
But that's another topic.

And so... the FWA came out with a bunch of matters that need to be answered. And so they should be. If found guilty (yet to be determined) then Thompson should face the associated penalties. Which I gather amounts to payment of fines.
Hardly the hard time that lolly and longfool are crapping on about based on shadowy allegations that they plucked out of their arses is it?
FWA is either Labor affiliated, or ridiculously incompetent. Taking 4 years to complete these investigations??
Thomson is alleged to have breached 156 contraventions, and I am sure that WHEN, not if, he is found guilty, he'll get more than just a few fines.
For me, this is not about political gain. It's about ethics and fairness. I want him brought to justice for stealing and using the money of others (especially bearing in mind that these people do some of the most disgusting work imaginable, for very little money) for prostitutes, airfare, dining and election campaigning. If it brings down the government, then that is just an added bonus.
